The B.Sc. (Hons.) in Earth Science at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is a 4-year full-time undergraduate programme (8 semesters) offered by the Faculty of Science (Institute of Science), one of India's oldest and most distinguished science institutions established in 1916. The programme covers geology, geophysics, geochemistry, oceanography, atmospheric sciences, and environmental earth sciences, equipping students with a strong foundation in understanding the Earth's physical processes, natural resources, and environmental systems. Admission is based on CUET UG scores, and the course is offered under the NEP 2020 curriculum. The total course fee for regular seat students is just Rs. 16,000 for the entire 4-year duration, making it one of the most affordable Earth Science programmes in India. The course is popular among students aspiring for careers in geology, mining, oil and gas, environmental consulting, and research.

Admissions for the 2026-27 session are upcoming, based on CUET UG 2026 scores. CUET UG 2026 registration closed on February 26, 2026, and the exam is scheduled from May 11 to May 31, 2026. BHU's Combined Allotment Programme (CAP-UG 2026) for seat allocation will be announced after CUET UG results, tentatively in July-August 2026. The 2025-26 admission cycle has been completed.
