The B.Sc (Hons.) Home Science programme at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, is a 4-year full-time undergraduate course offered by the Department of Home Science, Faculty of Science. Home Science is an interdisciplinary field that integrates knowledge from nutrition, food science, human development, textile science, resource management, and extension education to address the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. The total tuition fees for the course is Rs. 16,000 for the entire 4-year duration (Rs. 2,000 per semester), making it one of the most affordable Home Science programmes at a premier central university. Admission is based on CUET (UG) scores. The course is offered in full-time, on-campus mode and is popular among students seeking careers in nutrition, dietetics, food technology, textile design, community development, and research.

Admissions for the 2026-27 session are upcoming. CUET UG 2026 registration closed in February 2026, and the exam is scheduled from May 11 to May 31, 2026. BHU's CAP (Combined Allotment Programme) portal for UG admissions is expected to open in July 2026, with seat allotment rounds likely in August 2026, based on the 2025 admission schedule. The CUET 2025 cutoff for General category was in the range of 334-346 marks.
