BHU MA Dharm Vijnan FAQs
Q1. What is Dharm Vijnan and how is it different from Philosophy or Religious Studies?
A. Dharm Vijnan (Science of Dharma) is a unique discipline that studies Dharma as a comprehensive system encompassing ethics, metaphysics, ritual, law, and spirituality from within the Indian tradition. Unlike Western Philosophy or Comparative Religious Studies, Dharm Vijnan approaches the subject from the perspective of the Vedic, Upanishadic, Puranic, and Agamic traditions, using Sanskrit texts as primary sources. It is more specialised and tradition-specific than general Religious Studies.
