BHU M.Sc Silviculture FAQs
Ques. Is the M.Sc. Silviculture and Agroforestry at BHU offered at the main Varanasi campus or at RGSC?
Ans. This programme is offered exclusively at the Rajiv Gandhi South Campus (RGSC), located at Barkachha, Mirzapur, which is approximately 75 km from BHU's main Varanasi campus. RGSC is a fully residential campus with its own hostels, library, and research facilities. Students should be prepared for campus life at Mirzapur, not Varanasi.
Ques. What is the CUET PG paper code for this course, and what subjects does it cover?
Ans. The CUET PG paper code for this programme is SCQP01, which covers Agriculture and allied sciences including Forestry. The syllabus includes topics from Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Physiology, Genetics, Soil Science, and Forestry. Candidates with a B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry or B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture background are eligible.
Ques. Can a student with a 3-year B.Sc. Agriculture degree apply for this programme?
Ans. No. BHU strictly requires a 4-year degree of B.Sc. (Honours) Forestry or B.Sc. (Honours) Agriculture for admission to this programme. Students with a 3-year B.Sc. degree are not eligible, as per the BHU PG Bulletin 2026.
