NIT Uttarakhand offers a 2-year full-time M.Tech. in Power System and Control, a postgraduate engineering programme that provides advanced knowledge in power system reliability, smart grids, renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, power electronics, control systems, and microgrid management. The programme has a seat intake as per CCMT norms, with admissions primarily conducted through the Centralized Counselling for M.Tech. (CCMT) based on a valid GATE score. The total programme fees are approximately Rs. 2,03,193 (institute fees across 4 semesters, excluding hostel), making it an affordable option among NIT postgraduate engineering programmes. The course is offered in full-time on-campus mode and is popular among electrical engineering graduates seeking careers in power sector, renewable energy, electric vehicles, and R&D organisations.

Admissions for the 2026-27 batch have been completed via CCMT 2026 (GATE 2026 score-based), with institute reporting from August 5-11, 2026 and classes commencing August 12, 2026. The next admission cycle for 2027-28 will be through CCMT 2027, which is expected to open in May 2027 based on GATE 2027 results (declared March 19, 2027). Candidates may also apply for Self-Sponsored seats through a separate institute-level process if seats remain after CCMT.
