GEHU M.Sc Multimedia and Animation FAQs
Ques. Is M.Sc. Animation & Multimedia at GEHU only for students who have done B.Sc. Animation & Gaming?
Ans. No. The eligibility is open to graduates from any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks in graduation. Students from B.Sc., B.Tech., BCA, BFA, B.Des., B.Com., or any other UG program can apply. However, students with a background in animation, gaming, or design will have an advantage in the coursework.
Ques. What is the difference between M.Sc. Animation & Multimedia and M.Des. or MBA in Design at GEHU?
Ans. M.Sc. Animation & Multimedia is a science-oriented postgraduate program focused on the technical and creative aspects of animation, game development, VFX, and multimedia. It is more hands-on and portfolio-driven. An MBA in Design/Fashion Management would be more management-oriented. If your goal is to work as an animator, game developer, or VFX artist, M.Sc. is the right choice.
Ques. What career opportunities are available after M.Sc. Animation & Multimedia from GEHU?
Ans. Graduates can work as Senior Animators, Game Designers, VFX Artists, VR/AR Developers, Multimedia Specialists, Motion Graphics Designers, and Freelance Animators. They can find employment in animation studios, gaming companies, film/TV production houses, advertising agencies, and digital media companies. Some graduates also start their own animation or gaming studios.
Ques. Does GEHU provide placement support for M.Sc. Animation & Multimedia students?
Ans. GEHU has a centralized placement cell that supports all programs. However, placement for animation and multimedia PG courses is niche. The university has industry collaborations and conducts placement drives, but students are strongly advised to build a strong portfolio and network actively during the program. Self-driven portfolio development is the most critical factor for career success in this field.
Ques. Can GEHU alumni (B.Sc. Animation & Gaming graduates) get any additional benefit for M.Sc. admission?
Ans. Yes. GEHU alumni who have completed their UG degree from any Graphic Era Group institution are eligible for the Loyalty Concession of 10% on the net tuition fee, in addition to the merit-based academic scholarship. This makes the program even more affordable for continuing students.
Ques. What software and tools are taught in the M.Sc. Animation & Multimedia program at GEHU?
Ans. The program uses industry-standard tools including Autodesk Maya for 3D animation, Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Animate) for 2D animation and post-production, Unity and Unreal Engine for game development, and tools for VR/AR development. Students also work with Wacom tablets for digital illustration and character design.
