Ques. Is NEET required for admission to B.Pharm at Gurugram University?
Ans. No, NEET is not required for B.Pharm admission at Gurugram University. Admission is based on 10+2 PCM/PCB merit through HSTES (Haryana State Technical Education Society) counselling. Students who have appeared in NEET but not specifically for pharmacy need not worry, as B.Pharm admission in Haryana state universities does not require NEET scores.
Ques. What is the difference between B.Pharm and Pharm.D, and which is better for a career in clinical pharmacy?
Ans. B.Pharm is a 4-year undergraduate degree covering all aspects of pharmacy including pharmaceutical sciences, drug formulation, and clinical pharmacy. Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) is a 6-year program (5 years + 1 year internship) with a stronger focus on clinical pharmacy and patient care. For a career in clinical pharmacy or hospital pharmacy, Pharm.D is more specialized. However, B.Pharm followed by M.Pharm (Pharmacology or Clinical Pharmacy) is also a strong pathway. Gurugram University offers B.Pharm and M.Pharm but not Pharm.D currently.
