LJU BPT FAQs
Q1. Is NEET mandatory for BPT admission at LJ University for 2026-27?
Ans. No. As per the latest regulatory update, NEET-UG is NOT mandatory for BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) admissions for the 2026-27 session. This requirement has been deferred to 2027-28. For 2026-27, admissions will be based on aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in Class 12. However, having a NEET score may still be advantageous for some processes, so students are advised to appear for NEET UG 2026 (scheduled May 3, 2026) as a precaution.
Q2. What is the total fee for BPT at LJ University and are there any additional charges?
Ans. The total tuition fee for the 4-year BPT programme is Rs. 4,12,000 (Rs. 1,03,000 per year). Hostel facility is available separately at Rs. 72,000 to Rs. 1,44,000 per year depending on room type, and is not mandatory. There may be additional charges such as a refundable security deposit and application fee. Students should confirm the complete fee breakup with the institute at the time of admission.
Q3. How are BPT admissions conducted at LJ University - through state counselling or direct?
Ans. BPT admissions at LJ University are primarily conducted through ACPUGMEC (the Gujarat state admission committee for professional medical courses). Students must register on the ACPUGMEC portal and participate in the centralized merit-based counselling. After state counselling rounds, LJ University also conducts institute-level special admission rounds for any remaining seats. Students are advised to participate in both processes to maximize their chances.
Q4. What are the career prospects after completing BPT from LJ University?
Ans. BPT graduates from LJ University can work as physiotherapists in government and private multi-specialty hospitals, rehabilitation centers, sports teams, corporate wellness centers, and fitness facilities. They can also set up private clinics. After completing a Master of Physiotherapy (MPT), they can enter teaching and research. There is also significant demand for Indian physiotherapists in countries like the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, and the Middle East, making BPT a strong option for those considering international careers.
Q5. Is LJ Institute of Physiotherapy recognized by any professional body?
Ans. Yes. LJIPT is recognized and approved by the Government of Gujarat, affiliated with LJ University, and acknowledged by the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) and the Gujarat State Council of Physiotherapists (GSCPT). This recognition is important as it ensures the BPT degree is valid for professional registration and practice as a physiotherapist in India.
Q6. What is the seat intake for BPT at LJ University and how competitive is admission?
Ans. The BPT programme at LJ University has an intake of 100 seats per year. Since NEET is not mandatory for 2026-27, admissions are based on Class 12 PCB marks, making the process merit-based but relatively accessible compared to MBBS. Students with strong PCB scores (50% and above) are generally eligible, and the institute also conducts special admission rounds for remaining seats, making it reasonably accessible for aspiring physiotherapy students.
