Ques. Is NEET compulsory for BNYS admission at YBN University?
Ans. No. As per Ministry of AYUSH guidelines, NEET UG is not mandatory for admission to the BNYS programme. YBN University admits students primarily on the basis of 10+2 (PCB) merit. However, students who have appeared for NEET may submit their scores, and it may be considered during the selection process. Students should confirm the latest admission criteria directly with the university.
Ques. What is the career scope after completing BNYS from YBN University?
Ans. BNYS graduates can register with the State AYUSH Council and practice as naturopathy and yoga physicians. Career opportunities include working in naturopathy hospitals, wellness centres, yoga therapy centres, corporate wellness programmes, rehabilitation centres, and sports medicine facilities. Graduates can also pursue MD (Naturopathy) for specialisation or work in research and academia. With the growing global interest in holistic health, BNYS graduates are increasingly in demand.
Ques. Is the BNYS degree from YBN University recognised by the government?
Ans. YBN University is UGC-recognised and the BNYS programme is offered under the Ministry of AYUSH framework. Graduates can register with the respective State AYUSH Council to practice. Students are advised to verify the current recognition status of the programme with the university and the Jharkhand AYUSH Council before admission.
Ques. What is the duration of the BNYS programme at YBN University?
Ans. The BNYS programme is 5.5 years in total: 4.5 years of academic study (9 semesters) covering naturopathy, yoga therapy, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and clinical sciences, followed by 1 year of mandatory rotatory internship in a naturopathy hospital or clinic.
Ques. Can BNYS graduates practice as doctors in India?
Ans. BNYS graduates are recognised as AYUSH practitioners and can practice naturopathy and yoga medicine after registering with the State AYUSH Council. They are not equivalent to MBBS doctors and cannot prescribe allopathic medicines. However, they can independently practice naturopathy, yoga therapy, hydrotherapy, diet therapy, and related holistic treatments.
