Dislikes
- The courses can be a little more technical and cover more advanced concepts like Cloud Computing and System Design, Pipeline Management. Adding these topics in their courses will help the students to actually gain skills that are more relevant to their actual work once if their domain is Data oriented. However, with the MIM Program at iSchool where I studied, I had the flexibility to easily learn these concepts from other schools like the prestine Iribe School for CS.
Required Exams for Admission
The overall experience was very good for me and my peers as all of us had assistantships with 100% tuition remission. This helped me to complete my Master's degree in just 20,000 USD and I received a stipend of 10,000 USD per semester.
Course Curriculum
The course was pretty updated with the high-level concepts covered but not more so in-depth.
Faculty
The faculty is one of the best in class! You have professors who have worked in FAANG's and/or represented in multiple global conferences.
Campus Life
There are a lot of activities that keep happening around the campus which include free goodies and free food too! You will enjoy walking around the beautiful campus in all the weather conditions. You also have free shuttle services that take you around the college town for free.
Placement
You will have multiple career fairs throughout the program with the biggest fair conducted by the CS School with more than 180 companies visiting. Companies include Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Target, Fanny Mae, PWC, EY, KPMG,Deloitte, etc. Almost all the students in my program were placed 100% post graduation with a median salary around 110,000 USD.
Accommodation
You have student housing options in the range of $1400 to $1700 which is generally shared between 4 people and covers all utilities in the rent including Wi-Fi
Exams
You need to have a GRE score of 310+ , You need to have a IELTS band of 7+ or you need to have a TOEFL score of 105+. I had submitted 1 SOP that highlighted my interest in data and the power of data along with the support of multiple projects that I worked on in my bachelors. I also had 3 LORs from my HOD, Final Year Project Coordinator, and Class Incharge. In my Resume I highlighted all the projects and the specific courses in my Bachelors where I had topped in my class, along with my leadership examples and other extra curricular activities.
