What Students Say
Likes
- The faculties were amazing, supportive and always encouraging.
- The curriculum is very rigorous and yet flexible which is amazing.
- The concentration that is available for some degrees so that you can deep dive into your passion is amazing like I'm going for Child and Adolescent Development concentration they offer.
Dislikes
- I don't believe I've had any complaints with my university in truth because I haven't truly faced any difficulties that weren't addressed to promptly whether it is my faculties or academic advisor or even student council
- Also ,There's always someone available to immediately help out with whatever troubles you're facing and most of the time the solutions are received very quickly.
Required Exams for Admission
Course Curriculum
5
- It's a mix of both if I go by curriculum but I'm yet to begin on my practical courses.
- Currently I'm doing foundational and gen ed courses.
- It's mostly how the course is flexible but yet not any less difficult than what a normal student would be going through with.
- Biggest plus is the constantly updating curriculum.
- I haven't had any negatives yet, but I think it's still a bit early to comment on it cause I've only started and there's a lot more to go through.
Admission Experience
- I was admitted to all the colleges I applied to.
- I had applied to-
- University of Florida
- University of Saint Diego
- SNHU
- University of Michigan
- I was not able to join University of Michigan due to certain personal difficulties as it was my aspirational college but SNHU was my second top choice so I ended up going there.
- Since I was admitted in all the colleges I don't think anything went wrong but I am planning to try again for University of Michigan for my Masters, and I hope I'll be admitted again
- This particular college was my choice because it offered a more flexible environment. As I'm currently working, I was looking for options that were more flexible and yet just as rigorous with the quality of curriculum being the same.
- The admission process is fairly simple. The application process is easy and quick and there's an interview and SOP that you need to submit. They accept most exams such as IELTS, SAT,GMAT, etc, but they are mostly optional and not really required (although a great addition) if you have everything else in place and manage to nail your SOP and interview. IELTS score of above 6.0 or TOEFL above 50.
- Truth be told, some admission steps can also be skipped depending on your application. Like I practically skipped the standard admission process and was also offered a 55% scholarship.
- Overall, the admission process is extremely simple and quick, the admission counselors are great at guiding you through it.
- Because I had skipped the standard process, it was only about 5-6 days for me.
- I had applied in November when their applications had just opened and I was admitted into the Spring/Fall 2024 intake, which started towards the end of August... If I remember correctly it was 22nd August.
- I had applied in the beginning of November and my process was done in 5-6 days itself so my admission entirely was done before November 15
- I started classes in September after my orientation in August
Faculty
5
- 22:1 and plus a lot of the classes even have less than 20 students. This ratio is excellent to be honest cause it does help in interacting a lot with faculties and getting my doubts cleared during class.
- Teaching methodology is not limited to course content that is basically provided to us. All our teachers encourage us to explore beyond it and also introduce and refer us to a lot of new content which helps us in strengthening our bases. This approach helps in more than sufficient application to secure a job in my field.
- They generally do help us with jobs as and when they can, also they tend to recommend some students from time to time as well as from what I've seen with my seniors
- I haven't had a chance to meet a lot of my faculties but so far I have admired my History Faculty the most, history is one of my general education course. She is extremely knowledgeable, always pushing us to go beyond our limits, is strict but also understanding and I've never had to truly wait for long whenever I asked her any queries or questions I had over mail if I wasn't able to meet her in person.
Campus Life
5
- If I'm not wrong it has 2 campuses. One in machester where I'm studying and I'm not sure about the second location.
- It has all the facilities such as libraries, sports facilities, gym medical services and more.
Part Time Jobs
- I don't think I'll be qualified to comment on this as I'm not sure a about on campus jobs and pay range.
- I do know they are extremely competitive with multiple applicants and they are various other positions available in many different departments apart from the above stated ones.
- I had applied for a full time job and got accepted just before the professor responded to me.
- It is kinda difficult because everyone is trying for those particular positions but do tend to get accepted for some other available ones.
- I believe it differs from student to student but I think the avg ranges between 20-70 hours from what my friends have shared with me. Unless they are particular only interested in campus part time work study program
- It's quite easy to secure employment, if you want to freelance then you'll be able to do that as well if you a skill that you're really good at.
- It's mostly the general ones, applying via. different available portals, submitting application, interview and waiting for revert from the applied company.
Placement
4
- I'm yet to graduate so I don't think I'm really qualified to comment on this. But given what I've noticed is that most graduates seem to find suitable job options for them and good packages.
- Networking around campus is very strong with many facilities to facilitate that.
- There are various summits, conferences, events held along with campus job fairs.
Accommodation
Off Campus
5
- I am residing in my college accommodations.
- I didn't bother looking much since they were mostly affordable and seemed to suffice my requirements.
- I reside in a single room with no roommates. It's spacious with a study, and living space separate, so it was a good room for me.
- I paid for the entire year but an estimate was about 2.5k which includes the basic furniture, attached bathroom/washroom, security lock, wifi, recreational space it's very close to the gym and my classes. Meal plan and laundry was separately charged.
- Honestly, I think most students will find something suited to their needs in the college hostel itself.
- It's on my campus very close to the building where my classes are conducted.
Exams
- IELTS, TOEFL, PTE is generally what you require with a 6.0 plus score in IELTS and 50+ score in the other two, any other other exam is generally not required but accepted and also a great addition to the application.
- Your transcripts, SOP is generally all of it, you do require a 2.7+ CGPA out of 4 to be eligible but generally a lot higher to get in.
- I skipped the interview part. My admission advisor has told me it was mostly because my applications was one of the extremely good ones I received and also I was additionally offered a 55% scholarship. So, Can’t comment on the interview process
Events
5
- We had a lot of events that were conducted recently
- So far there's been at least like 6-7 events a month that were conducted, including orientations and homecoming.
- I recently also attended an AI summit
Fees
- Total Estimated Costs: $32,382-$34382
- Tution fees : 16200
- Housing: 9k-11k
- Dining: 3.8k
- International Admin Fees: 350
- Engineering Program Fees (only for engineering students): 3k
- Comprehensive Fee (Miscellaneous): 1k
- Health Insurance: 2382
- The fees is in USD, there are various payment methods and financial aid packages available including work-study programs
- My costs are normally slightly on higher end since I tend to go for comfort options for everything, my overall costs for the month usually range in between USD3-5k depending on the month and events and everything that I might be participating in.
Scholarship
- At the start of the program while applying to the university they had offered me a 55% scholarship which was directly applied to my fees.
- Apart from this due to being involved in various different clubs and my work, I have not really applied for scholarships.
- A lot of my classmates have applied to and received various scholarships and some are also part of a work study program which happens to be very competitive.
- There's a lot of grants and scholarships available, details of which can be found on the website and they also allow credit transfers of upto 90 credits which also helps in reducing the costs of the course.
- One just needs to talk to their enrollment advisor or academic advisor if you are enrolled already and they'll guide you through with the application processes and eligibility requirements of various scholarships and grants also assisting you as much as they can to increase your chances at receiving the financial aid.
