- Nothing as such, just that they are not concerned about your presence in the class or you actively participating.
- Deadlined are tight. You will simply get a zero and there is no scope of correcting it.
- Sometimes there are people with arms and ammunitions that enter college we get to know through alerts.
Colleges Where I Was Accepted
Reason for choosing my college
- Lamar University offered me an asynchronous online mode of studying for an MBA, which was exactly what I needed. It offered me this mode of study on my dependent visa.
- Also my known person had already done an MBA from here so I somehow knew what was there.
- Further, it’s affiliated with Texas University directly.
Colleges Where I Was Rejected
Reason for Rejection
- Nothing went wrong. It is just that Lamar offered exactly what I needed, so I chose Lamar University over any other university.

Tips to enhance your application
Your cover letter should contain everything you have done in your career apart from the clear vision and mission you have in your mind applying in that University.
Admission Experience
- Lamar University is in Texas and comes under Texas University.
- I chose it over any other university because it offered an asynchronous online MBA to me on my dependent visa status.
- Also, my known person had done his MBA from there so I already knew what it offered.
Class Schedule
- I have flexible timing for my classes. There is usually one live session in a week which is also recorded. So I can participate in that or listen to the recording some other day. I have to accomplish the task given in that particular week.
- My class does have around 100 people and there are many Indians.
- Also every subject has a syllabus which has already mentioned that you need to give at least 8 hours per week to that particular subject.
Faculty
- Each subject has one professor and two teaching assistants. So far I have loved working under Dr Rakesh Guduru and Dr B. They are good.
- I have no idea about the part-time full-time thing because I am not eligible for any as of now.
Campus Life
They do have job fairs, LU day and some alumni meet-ups. These events enhance connections and hence an opportunity to build up your career. Also, they have proper graduation ceremonies. There are alerts for anything extraordinary going on at the campus.
Part Time Jobs
- I have seen Indian students mostly working in departmental stores as cashiers. There is a big chain of departmental stores called Patel Brothers, and the staff is mostly the Indian students there. Apart from that I have seen them working as waiters in MacD, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts etc
- Since I am on a dependent visa, I am not eligible for these things, so I have not explored this section in depth. But I am sure they must be providing these opportunities because when signing up I did see they offer 20 hours per week for working.
Placement
- Here, the job market is good. They do need human resources for every field, just that we should know which field to explore.
- I had an activity for one of my subjects to explore the data entry jobs for my course and I could see they offer $60k - $110k for research or data analysts.
Accommodation
- I have seen accommodations in the vicinity of colleges and universities.Mostly apartment systems are there but sometimes you can also find a proper home.
- It has a proper system where you submit your resume and documents to get the accommodations.
