- Since the college is based in Seattle, the job opportunities are pretty much good as compared to other colleges, but the current market situation has impacted a lot.
- But almost 70% of the people who graduated get a full-time job.
- Some major companies that hire here are
- 1. Microsoft
- 2. Amazon
- 3. T mobile
- 4. Wallmart
- These are the major big companies where students try to get in.
- But there are a lot of small companies and startups as well where people get their jobs.
- Also, the college hosts job fairs every quarter so that students can meet various companies and get their applications done during those job fairs.
- Some people did get hired through these job fairs by getting an interview call within a few weeks of the job fair so it helps a lot.
Accommodation
- I choose off-campus accommodation because university accommodation is quite expensive as compared to living outside the campus. I am paying rent, utilities, and groceries all in total for about 800 USD monthly. Where on campus living costs you around 1300 USD per month just for the living and food is also separate. These on-campus options are also limited and bount you to live there for at least 6 months.
- Currently, I live in a 1-bed apartment with 2 other people, which helps me to cut down on rent.
- And my apartment is just 10 minutes away from the campus so I don't have to travel a lot.
Exams
- I took the IELTS, while some friends took TOEFL.
- Some of the Necessary documents include graduation transcripts, letters of recommendation (LOR), a statement of purpose (SOP), a resume, and the IELTS scorecard. An optional interview was part of the process, conducted by an admissions officer, but this was not madatory and i had to go through this because i was applying for a scholarship.
Fees
- the Fees structure here is credit-based
- I am charged 950 USD per credit. Typically, subjects offered here are of 3 or 5 credits in my course.
- along with the fees they charge for the medical insurance, which is around 1800 USD per quarter.
- My monthly expense is around 800 USD, which includes my rent + utilities and my groceries.
- I live within walking distance from the university, so I do not have to pay any transportation costs.
- Usually public transports cost 5 USD for unlimited travel for 24 hours.
- The university also gives an ORCA card that helps to pay for the public transport. Where you pay 50 USD and the university puts in 50 USD, making it a total of 100 USD.
