- Above thing might cause you trouble in commuting if you stay off campus If you stay off campus you don't have public transportation to college.
- Especially for business students they might have classes in 2 campus which are 15 miles apart and hard to commute even if you stay on campus.
Course Curriculum
- The course for each subject is for 8 weeks only so you need to keep up with each of your classes you have and you have assignment in each week for most if the courses and exam in mid term and final which will be 4th and 8th week.
- Each week you will be having quiz discussion and an assignment and mostly if you take 3 classes Semester you can do all 3 in first term or all 3 in second term preferably one online and one offline in term 1 and one offline in term2.
- Mostly classes will be in evening and each class will be around 3 hours. In most of the classes they will be 40 people and out of which 30 are Indians.
Admission Experience
-
Illinois Institute of Technology admitted got the i-20 studied for a semester and later transferred to Lewis university my visa is still on Illinois Institute of technology but my sevis is transferred to Lewis University and FYI there is no issue to travel if you transferred from one college to another it is a common practice in United states of America
Northern Arizona University admitted
Cincinnati University rejected ( reason late application)
New haven university (reason late admission) - I will give you the reason for both Illinois institute of technology and Lewis university for Illinois institute of technology it was purely because of scholarships they offered they offered me 12000$ in scholarships in which they used 6000$ in first semester and the college is to pricey when comparing to its standards. For lewis university i know alumni of this college and trusted them.
- The application process is through college application portal and everything needed to uploaded on portal admissions letter and initial i-20 too you will get in the portal any issues email the international admissions team they will always help you English proficiency Duolingo 105 Ielts 6.5 Toefl 79
- Most of indian students gre is waived off
- Spring 2024 and the deadline will be early December admission process take for 2 weeks for decision and you will get i-20 as soon as you submit your financial documents you will receive it in 2 days after receiving all the documents and if you have incomplete documents will delay the process and if you mail the admissions team about urgency if you have interview coming ahead they will help you out
Faculty
- Faculty to students ratio 1:9 bit for the courses like computers related it might go up to 1:15 or something even though the ratio is high the teaching is good and professors are very much experienced and up to date and most of them still work in real life in industries related to their field they are really good at what they do.
- My professor Manoj bhat who referred me few certification and internship opportunities.

- Sodexo is the catering company of Lewis University.
Hourly minimum wage in Illinois is 14$ and you will get mostly more than that in sodexo its 14$ per hour and in our office it is 15$ per hour maximum you can work as student worker is recently decreased from 20 to 15 for good sake of students to involve more in academics the process you need to apply and send the cover letter and resume and also they will look into your academics
Placement
- Most of the people will get jobs after graduating and the opportunity for job fairs on campus are less as companies don't want to sponsor visa for international students the students most of the times apply for full time and if they did not acquire job before their opt starts they start working for companies in c2c which does not need companies ti sponsor visas the vendor will sponsor your visa
Accommodation
- Off campus and my accommodation is 5 miles away from campus which will take me 10 mins drive and monthly it costs me 500$ as i share 2 BHK with 3 others the challenges will be security deposit and transportation to college.
- It 's better be on campus but its costly to be on campus it costs you around 20000$ per year for accommodation on campus but if you stay off campus you need to buy car or at-least have a roommate who has one.
