What Students Say
Dislikes
- The Data science course was only 11 months, they could have kept it longer.
Course Curriculum
- The course was good, the course was updated enough to capture the current trends, AI, and ML.
- Experience was gained by doing a lot of take-home projects and assignments. They pretty much reflected the real-world scenarios.
- 2 classes/ day. Depending on the number of subjects you take in that semester.
- 35 to 40 students in my class.
Admission Experience
- UCONN has a good business analytics and computer science course. I was interested in a data science program, so I wanted to try it out, and if I did not like it, then I planned to switch my course. UCONN also has a lot of on-campus part-time jobs, which helped me to survive in the US by myself.
- My scores: GRE: 308, IELTS: 8
- I don't know about the required scores.
Faculty
- All the professors are friendly and have a lot of experience in teaching and explaining real-world scenarios.
- I can't name one single professor, but a lot of them have helped me to land an internship in the USA.
Campus Life
- UConn’s main campus is in Storrs, CT. It also has regional campuses in Hartford, 700+ student clubs and organizations spanning academics, culture, hobbies, leadership, media, performing arts, political activism, and more.
- Groups like the Undergraduate Student Government, the Student Union Board of Governors, and leadership programs help students organize events, represent peers, and gain skills.
Part Time Jobs
- Hourly student jobs in dining, library, rec center, administrative offices, labs, IT support, events, and student services are posted through UConn Student Employment’s system.
- For graduate students, assistantships include Teaching Assistant (TA), Research Assistant (RA), and other Graduate Assistant (GA) roles. Class I (trainee): $16.94/hour Class II: $17.09–$18.29/hour Class III: $18.34–$20.29/hour Class IV: $20.34–$35.64/hour
Placement
- The Job market is pretty tough right now for international students.
- depends on the role and experience, and location. The base can be from 70K USD/annum.
- I would suggest getting some experience around (3 to 4) and then plan to come to the US.
- UConn explicitly runs career fairs where employers recruit students for full-time jobs, internships, and co-ops, including fairs across multiple campuses
- UConn’s Alumni-in-Residence program is specifically positioned as a way for students to connect with alumni, explore careers, and get job-search guidance.
Accommodation
- I found my accommodation via WhatsApp groups. My rent was 450$ per month 2 shared.
Exams
- I guess they only required a language proficiency course.
Fees
- 30 credits.
- 1 credit = 1450$(may increase every year)
