VIT International Selection Process 2026
The selection process is merit-based and follows a transparent, step-wise procedure:
Step 1: Application Scrutiny
All submitted applications are carefully reviewed to ensure eligibility criteria are met and required documents are complete and valid.
Step 2: Provisional Admission Letter
Eligible candidates receive a provisional admission offer, subject to availability of seats. Programme allotment is done on a first-come, first-served basis.
Step 3: Advance Fee Payment
Selected candidates must pay the advance tuition fee within the stipulated deadline(typically 7–15 days of receiving the provisional admission letter) to confirm their seat.
Step 4: Final Admission & Reporting
Upon payment of balance tuition and hostel fees, candidates receive the final admission confirmation and must report to the campus as per the academic schedule.

Ques1. Who can apply under the NRI and Foreign categories for admission to VIT?
Ans. NRI students are Indian nationals with parents working abroad, while Foreign students are any foreign nationals (including OCI holders) with a passport or National ID.
Ques2. What is the External Part-Time (EPT) Ph.D. programme at VIT? Is this programme available at all VIT campuses?
Ans. The External Part-Time (EPT) Ph.D. at VIT is designed for working professionals such as teachers or employees in recognized R&D organizations, industries, or institutions, allowing them to pursue doctoral research while continuing their employment. Applicants must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or sponsorship from their employer. This programme is offered only at the VIT Bhopal Campus and is not available at other VIT campuses.
Ques3. Are supporting documents required for sponsored candidates at VIT?
Ans. Yes. Sponsored candidates must submit valid sponsorship and R&D recognition certificates issued by the relevant government or competent authorities, such as DSIR or other appropriate bodies, as applicable.

Ques6. Which programmes can PCB students apply for at VIT?
Ans. Candidates who studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in Class 12 are eligible to apply only for bio-related B.Tech programmes at VIT. These typically include courses such as B.Tech Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, and other health science–related specializations, depending on the campus and programme availability.
Ques7. Can PCB students apply for all B.Tech branches at VIT?
Ans. No. Candidates with the PCB combination are not eligible for core engineering branches that require Mathematics, such as Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Electronics. PCB students can apply only to biotechnology and other bio-science-related B.Tech programmes offered by VIT.
Ques8. What is the eligibility for B.Sc. Computer Science and BCA at VIT?
Ans. Candidates must secure at least 60% overall aggregate in the qualifying examination. They should also have studied Mathematics, Business Mathematics & Statistics, or Applied Mathematics as one of the subjects.
