AISSMS IOIT, Pune Organises National Level Project Competition and Prize Distribution Ceremony

AISSMS IOIT, Pune was organized, " National Level Project Competition & Prize distribution ceremony” for the first-year engineering students on recently. The Project competition & Prize distribution ceremony program was held in both ways online and offline at college. Total 170 projects and 850 students from various states participated in the National level project competitions. 300 HSC students visited the project exhibition. The program was inaugurated by Dr. M. P. Sardey, HOD (E&TC), AISSMS IOIT. For the award distribution ceremony, Shri. Soumitra Ghotikar, Director, Joy Web Services Pvt Ltd, Pune; Pooja Shah, Sales and Marketing Manager, Sterling & Wilson, Balewadi-Pune; and Ms. Sai Deshmukh, SEO Director, Organic Growth at Amber, Pune, were the chief guests.

Such a motivational program was arranged by the inspiration of Hon. Secretary Shri. Malojiraje Chhatrapati. This program was successfully completed under the guidance of Principal, Dr. P. B. Mane and Head of the department Dr. P. G. Musrif. The program was organised by the first-year department. This program was coordinated by Mr. A.J. More. 

Innovate U Teckathon 2024 Concludes Successfully at AISSMS IOIT, Pune

In a remarkable display of innovation and technical prowess, the All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s Institute of Information Technology (AISSMS IOIT), Pune, recently hosted the grand finale of 'Innovate U Teckathon 2024'. This national-level hackathon, sponsored by Innovate, captivated the tech community with its 24-hour coding marathon aimed at tackling pressing societal challenges.

The closing ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. Suresh Gosavi, Honorable Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University,Shri Malojiraje Chhatrapati, Honorable Secretary of AISSM Society, Dr. P. B. Mane, Principal of AISSMS IOIT, Mr. Kalpesh Yadav, President of Innovative Foundation, Shri Sandeep Gautam, Operational Excellence Director at T-System, Shri Kamal Chaudhari, Chief of Siemens IT (Asia), Shri Rohidas Gavhane, Executive Engineer at Pune Municipal Corporation, and Shri Ganesh Nag, Founder of Brainovision Solutions (India) Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad.

The event garnered participation from over 700 talented contestants from across India, all vying to present their innovative solutions in areas ranging from transportation and environment to education and healthcare. The hackathon, recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), provided a dynamic platform for students to showcase their creativity and problem-solving abilities.

The winning teams received significant recognition for their outstanding efforts, with the top team awarded a prize of 2 lakhs, followed by 1 lakh for the runner-up team and 75 thousand for the second runner-up team. Additionally, incentives of 25,000 rupees each were distributed to two deserving teams as a token of appreciation.

Expressing their gratitude, participants commended AISSMS IOIT, and the Innovation Foundation for their meticulous planning and execution of the competition. Prof. Devendra Etole and Prof. Mamta Sanjay Koban were lauded for their successful coordination, Noteworthy contributions were also made by individuals including Ms. Madhavi Shinde, Ms. Kaveri Karanje, Ms. Avantika Shende, Soham Narule, Mahesh Babar, and Soham Mhetre.

The event not only showcased the technical acumen of the participants but also underscored the importance of leveraging technology for social good. As the world continues to face multifaceted challenges, platforms like 'Innovate Utke Thon' serve as beacons of innovation, inspiring the next generation of problem solvers to create meaningful change through technology.

AISSMS IOIT Celebrates Silver Jubilee with Grand Legacy Run Pune Marathon

Date: December 20, 2023

In commemoration of the Silver Jubilee of the Institute of Information Technology, the All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society (AISSMS), Pune, in collaboration with the Deccan Sports Club, is organizing a significant Legacy Run Pune Marathon. This noteworthy run is scheduled to unfold on January 14th. The marathon will commence from the scenic premises of AISSMS in Shivajinagar, Pune, featuring an exciting and spirited competition with two categories: a 5 km run and a 10 km run.

The meticulously planned routes will see participants from AISSMS College traversing from the college to Bund Garden for the 5 km run. For the 10 km run, the route extends from AISSMS College to Bund Garden Bridge, along Sangamwadi Road, and back to Bund Garden Bridge to AISMS College.

This marathon aims not only to foster a sense of healthy competition but also to promote awareness about the importance of health. Anticipating over 5000 runners from Maharashtra, the organizing bodies, Deccan Sports Club and All India Shree Shivaji Memorial Society Pune, have demonstrated commendable planning for the event's success.

The Legacy Run Pune Marathon caters to participants in four age groups: 14 to 30 years, 31 to 40 years, 41 to 50 years, and 51 years and above. Participants can look forward to receiving goody bags, t-shirts, finisher medals, time chips, e-certificates, breakfast, and medical and physio support. 150 dedicated volunteers will man the route.

Under the valuable guidance of the Hon. Secretary of All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society Pune, Shrimant Chhatrapati Malojiraje, the event is expected to be highly beneficial. The coordination efforts of Uday Patil, Vaibhav Belgaonkar, and Sameer Chowgule of Deccan Sports Club, along with the support of Manish Suryavanshi and other officials, as well as Principal P. B. Mane, will undoubtedly contribute to the success of this significant marathon competition.

AISSMS IOIT, Pune organizes a value-added course on Machine Learning Operations (MLOps)

Recently AISSMS Institute of Information Technology had a value-added course on Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) of 30 hours. The Principal, Dr.P.B.Mane inaugurated the ceremony in the presence of Resource person Mr.Kushal Sharma, Founder of Indeed Inspiriting InfoTech and Managing Director in Prushal Technology, Pvt. Ltd. Pune.

The objective of this workshop was to impart practical knowledge about Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) and their applications. 

During the workshop, Mr.Kushal Sharma shared his valuable knowledge and expertise with the participants and discussed on the overview of Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) and its significance in machine learning Projects Understanding the challenges in deploying and managing ML, models in production, Introduction to key tools and technologies in Machine Learning Operations (MLOps)

This workshop is organized under the guidance of Principal Dr.P.B.Mane & coordinated by Dr. Meenakshi Thalor (HOD of the Information Technology department) gave a vote of thanks.

Inauguration of 'Centres of Excellence' at AISSMS Institute of Information Technology College Pune by Minister of Higher and Technical Education Mr. Chandrakant Patil

As part of the new education policy, the professors will also be encouraged to get experience in the industry during their service- Minister of Higher and Technical Education Mr. Chandrakant Patil.

 AISSMS Institute of Information Technology, Pune College has created state-of-the-art laboratories like 'Oracle Academy, Drone Academy and Advit AI Lab' for the training of students & faculties of the institute. The inauguration of the said laboratories and the Silver Jubilee programs of the college was held on 23 July 2023 at AISSMS Institute of Information Technology, Pune under the patronage of Mr. Chandrakant Patil, Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra. This time honourable MLA Shri. Siddharth Shirole was present as the President of the program.

Centres of Excellence such as Oracle Academy, Drone Academy and Advit AI Lab have been established in AISSMS Institute of Information Technology College. Speaking on the occasion of the inauguration, Mr. Chandrakant Patil highlighted the need for state-of-the-art laboratories in technical education. While giving guidance on the new educational policy, he gave valuable guidance to the students to go and work in the actual industry, to do research and he emphasis to create new courses by the educational institutes and instructed teachers to update their skills by connecting with the industry. He also praised the college for this initiative and wished good luck for the silver jubilee programs.

Mr. Siddharth Shirole MLA Shivajinagar Constituency, the President of the program, while expressing his feelings, mentioned that he was an ex-student of the AISSMS and reminisced about his college life. The Honorary Secretary of the AISSMS Shri. Malojiraje Chhatrapati gave a brief introduction to the mission policies of the Institute and commented on the contribution of the state-of-the-art laboratory in creating skilled engineering manpower. While introducing the programme, the principal of the college, Dr. P. B. Mane presented the glorious 25 years journey of the college through an audio-visual clip. He also highlighted the mission of the college to achieve multifaceted development with skills and knowledge and create awareness of the latest developments and technologies among the students.

AISSMS IOIT, Pune organized Open House session on “Guidance on Engineering Admission Option Form Filling and Scholarships Available” for class XII students

Under Institutional Social Responsibility, AISSMS IOIT, Pune recently organized an Open House session on "Guidance on Engineering Admission Option Form Filling and Scholarships Available" on 11/07/2023 at 11:00 am. The session was organized in both online and offline mode in a multipurpose hall. Mr. Kedar Takalkar, a career mentor, was the speaker of the session. He gave in-depth guidance on the entire engineering degree admission process, various stages of the admission process, important documents required for it, filling up of college and branch option forms, CAP round 1, 2, 3 and institute level round, seat matrix and seat allotment. Principal, Dr. P. B. Mane, introduced the various colleges of the institute; he also gave in depth guidance on various scholarships.

AISSMS IOIT College of Engineering Implements India’s First Wireless Messaging System

AISSMS IOIT College of Engineering, in association with IEEE HAC Site Group and Radio Amateur Club of Kolhapur, implemented the first wireless messaging system in the country through the Ham Radio project in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra. The project was launched on 1st May 2023 at the District Control Room in the presence of cabinet minister, Hon'ble Shri. Deepak Kesarkar, Shri. Malojiraje Chhatrapati (Honorary Secretary AISSM Society Institute), Collector Shri. Rahul Rekhawar, AISSMS Principal of IOIT College Dr. P.B. Mane, and other officials.

For the past three years, the Kolhapur area of Maharashtra has been facing floods. The floods of 2020 and 2021 in Kolhapur and Sangli districts left thousands of people stranded without food or essential items, as all means of communication were closed. Officials involved in the rescue operation admitted that the lack of communication was a big obstacle to providing help.

To address this issue, AISSMS IOIT initiated a project specifically for disaster management using HAM radio, a popular wireless communication system used in developed countries. The project aimed to establish a reliable wireless system for message exchange in emergency situations. The project was completed successfully under the guidance of Principal Dr. P.B. Mane, with the cooperation of the Radio Amateur Club of Kolhapur and Officer of District Disaster Management, Kolhapur, Dr. Prasad Sankpal.

A HAM radio station was established to communicate during flood situations in the district. The project investigators, Dr. Sarika Panwar and Dr. Rakesh Dhumale, Faculties, AISSMS IOIT, established wireless communication in Chikhli and Ambewadi villages of Kolhapur District and Karveer Taluka. The wireless system proved to be an effective means of communication in emergency situations.

Inaugural ceremony of Centers of excellence has been organized at AISMSS IOIT College Pune

All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s Institute Of Information Technology, Pune, inaugurated Rubiscape- Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Centre Of Excellence (COE) on 6th September 2022. Data Science and Artificial Intelligence have become the most demanding skill in the industry globally and with the New Education Policy (NEP). In view of this AISSMS IOIT and Rubiscape Pvt. Ltd. had signed MOU and established a centre of excellence for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The Centres of Excellence is inaugurated by Chief Guest - Mr.Akshay Hulikavi-Group head of digital transformation, Thermax Pvt. limited.

Informative lecture on “Detecting and Measuring Polarization Effects of was organized at AISSMS IOIT

All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s Institute of Information Technology, Pune International Partnership Cell organized a guest lecture on “Detecting and Measuring Polarization Effects of Botnet on Twitter” on 7th September 2022by Prof. Hasan Davalcu, from School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence Ira. A. Fulton School of Engineering, Arizona State University.The guest speaker was heartily welcomed by Principal Dr.P.B.Mane. 

The guest speaker developed patented AI and machine learning algorithms to mine information from multi-lingual text, image and video sources extracted from social networks. He is co-founder &CTO of ARTIS MAGI -- deploying highly complex and proprietary algorithms derived from social science and artificial intelligence to pinpoint all pivotal target audiences and sway them in desirable directions.The session was very interactive and students participated enthusiastically. Prof. Hasan Davalcu answered various questions regarding AI and machine learning algorithms during his session.

The objective of this program was to make students aware about new age career options. Mr. Shirish Shahane , Chief Information Officer of Thermax Babcock & Wilcox Energy Solutions was a Chief Guest at the event and well-known speaker, writer and technopreneur Dr.Deepak Shikarpur,was the main speaker. Mr. Sanjay Gandhi, Chairman and Managing Director of Aspire Knowledge and Skill India Pvt and Mr. Anirudh Gogte of Nitin Prakasan was present for the program. AISSMS IOIT, Pune organized, “Guidance Seminar on competitive exam” for first year students

AISSMS IOIT, Pune organized, Guidance seminar on competitive exam for the first-year students on 31/05/2022 at 11 am. Mr. Piyush Salunkhe, IAS, Assistant Magistrate and Assistant collector at Purulia West Bengal, (Alumna of AISSMS IOIT) was the chief guest for seminar.

Mr. Piyush Salunkhe shared his experience with students. They mainly focus on meaning of competitive exam, preparation strategy for competitive exam, how competitive exam beneficial for engineering graduate, quality required to become an officer etc.

SPPU Organized Project Exhibition Cum Competition of Projects

‘ELESPA multirole automated HEV’ Secured the first position and won prize amount 50000/-, at Regional Level Project Competition” organized by AISSM IOIT Pune. 

Director of Technical Education, Regional Office, Pune in association with Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, and All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s Institute of Information Technology, Pune had organized a “Regional Level Project Competition” sponsored by IEEE communication Society and Signal Processing Society on 2nd May 2022.

To honour the occasion of the 75th year of Independence, the Higher and Technical Education Department and Faculty of Science and Technology of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) have decided to celebrate the event by organizing a Project Exhibition cum Competition of projects of undergraduate, postgraduates students from Engineering, Pharmacy, Architecture, Hotel Management, MBA and MCA colleges in Pune region of the Director of Technical Education. The objective of this competition is to promote creativity, talent, and innovativeness in the students across Pune Region. Response to the competition was overwhelming; total 115 projects registered for demonstration and competition. 24 eminent personalities from industries, research labs, and other academic institutions were invited as experts to evaluate the projects. The rigorous evaluation was based on the criteria such as novelty, social relevance, business potential, and quality of development.

For the inaugural function, Prof. Dr. D.V. Jadhav, Joint Director Technical education regional office Pune, Dr.Manohar Chaskar, Dean-Faculty of Science & Technology, SPPU Pune, Mr. Girish Khilari, Chairman IEEE Pune Section, Hon. Joint Secretary Shri Suresh Shinde, Principal Dr. P.B.Mane & coordinator Dr.V.K.Bairagi were present on the Dias. 

The competition was conducted in three rounds, the first round was done at the college level, and the two rounds were held at the event. Based on evaluation guidelines ‘ELESPA multirole automated HEV’ Secured the first position and won prize amount 50000/-, “SANIGREEN for green earth’ secured second position and prize amount 30000-/, ‘Control algorithm CSTR using delta V DCS’ secured third position and prize amount 20000/- and 10 projects won a consolation prize of 5000/- each. 

AISSMS Hon. Secretary Shri Malojiraje Chhatrapati sent best wishes for the event. The event was organized under the guidance of principal Dr.P.B.Mane and successfully organized by coordinator Dr. V.K.Bairagi and co-coordinator Dr.Rakesh Dhumale and Dr. Kishor Wagh and all committee members.

AISSMS IOIT awarded 'A+' grade by NAAC and Autonomous Status by UGC

AISSMS IOIT College has received an ‘A +’ grade in cycle II of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The A+ grade has elevated AISSMS IOIT to the ranks of India's most exclusive and distinguished Higher Educational Institutions (HEI), where it is committed to providing and imparting quality education to its students. To add one more feather to the cap, the college has achieved an autonomous status from UGC and is now included in the list of autonomous colleges of Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Principal Dr. P.B Mane said, “The institute scored a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.40 on a 4 point scale. It is reviewed by NAAC in accordance with the revised scheme, which has made the entire accreditation procedure even more rigorous and tough”. It is the years of hard effort by our students and teachers that have culminated in this recognition, which has validated our academic framework and practices that we have been implementing since our establishment, he added. The principal said, “We have implemented best and next practices to support joyful learning and continuous improvement in the teaching-learning process which helps in the holistic development of our students.”

This assessment helps the society, students, parents, and industry to get information about the educational quality, research, innovation, various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, social commitment, teaching-learning methods adopted by the college. Curriculum, teaching-learning methods, research and development, innovation, infrastructure, student-teacher participation, innovative initiatives, leadership and management, alumni participation and personality development are points examined by NAAC.

Along with the success of NAAC accreditation, the college has also gained an autonomous status from UGC. With the attainment of autonomous status, the college is now allowed to start skill-based and employment-oriented courses.

UGC has given this status to the college for a period of 10 years. Achieving autonomous status is a milestone in the progressive history of the college.

“With the autonomous status, the college will now be able to independently create employment-oriented courses, collaborate with foreign universities, conduct examinations and strengthen the college's 'i-Connect' initiative to bridge the industry and academic gap,” said Principal Dr. PB Mane.

AISSMS IOT Pune organizes Emerging Smart Computing and Informatics-ESCI-2021

An International Conference on "Emerging Smart Computing and Informatics-ESCI-2021" was organized at AISSMS IOIT, Pune. This three days conference was scheduled recently. The inauguration was done by Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar through an online platform. Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar during his speech asserted the magic of achieving high aspiration with assured innovation success. When the aspirations are high then the vast possibilities are open for you. He added that-“I” in India must stand for “innovation” should not stand for individual or imitations. In this regard we have to make a paradigm shift in our innovation strategy. 

He advised following the next practice instead of best practice. “Whenever you say I am following best practice is just following, you have to gain next practice, and we have to become next practice for others; we must not leapfrog we must pole vault in terms of innovation,” said Mashelkar. According to him, successive pole vaulting can be achieved through ‘Assured total innovation framework’ Any innovation you do see that should be affordable, scalable, sustainable, universal, rapid, distinctive, if you find one or two criteria missing then we are bound to fail over a period of time.

He congratulated AISSMS IOIT for organizing such a wonderful conference through the online platform and grabbing opportunities in the adversity of the current situation and wished the best for it. Shri Malojiraje Chhatrapati, Secretary AISSM Society sent his well-wishing message for guests and participants on behalf of AISSMS society and wished for the grand success of the conference.

Shri Suresh Shinde, Honorary Joint Secretary AISSM Society, addressed the gathering by inspiring words; he said “The world is becoming smart so as we in terms of education and grabbing opportunities and through 5 A’s -Ask, Advise, Assess, Assist, and Arrange. We should move toward the smartness.”

Dr. P.B.Mane Principal of AISSMS IOIT highlighted the reasons for organizing the conference and threw light on the proceedings of the conference he said that upcoming engineers should take the benefit of such conferences to encourage knowledge sharing and be enlightened about innovative ideas. Extending the thought of the Assured framework of Dr.Mashelkar on behalf of all teachers he promised to bring quality education through innovation.

IEEE’s Pune section president Mr.Girish Khilari briefed the gathering by highlighting the need of raising the bar of quality and standards in higher education by focusing on important keywords like the benefit of humanity, improving global condition. Enhance public understanding. At the time of inauguration Honorary joint Secretary Mr. Suresh Shinde, IEEE’s Pune section president Mr.Girish Khilare, Vice-chair Dr.Jagdish Chaudhari secretary Dr.Neha Sharma, Mr. Dinanath Kolkar was present.

This conference aimed to provide an allied platform to emerging trends in smart computing, networking, communication, automation, IoT signal, and image processing and also to provide an opportunity to global participants to share their ideas and experiences.The conference received overall 786 papers from which 154 papers were accepted for presentation. Dr. Suresh Limkar anchored the function while Principal Dr. P.B.Mane presented the vote of thanks.
