Dr. G. Vishnu Murthy is the Dean of the CSE Department at Anurag University. He did his graduation and postgraduation in CSE and did his Ph.D. from JNTU Hyderabad. He has over 20 years of teaching, research, and administration experience. He has published around 80 research papers in International Journals and Conferences and one of his papers is placed in Cornell Computing Research Repository. He received the Best Paper award for the research paper on “Trends in Image Representation using Picture Languages” and presently guiding scholars in the areas of Computer Vision, Big Data, and Cyber Security. He was nominated as Executive Council Member for JNTUH in the year 2020. He attended the Management Capacity Enhancement Program at IIM, Indore, and the Leadership Development Program by Dudley College, UK as part of the UKIERI Initiative.

How do you stay current with the latest trends and developments in the field of Engineering and incorporate them into the curriculum and programs offered by Anurag University?
The latest technologies are offered in the college. Professional electives and certifications are executed as part of assignments in regular courses to supplement student learning.
We are observing the trend of most of the students choosing CSE more, compared to other streams in engineering. What are the scope and opportunities for CSE in the coming future?
This is the only lucrative field involving creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving to make the world a better place resulting in tremendous scope for employment and entrepreneurship.

The Board of Studies (BoS) for Computer Science is constituted of the right mix of members representing Industry, Academia, and Alumni with a focus on developing a curriculum that aligns with Industry requirements.
As an individual who is involved in a lot of research activities, how do you push and support your students in research and scholarly activities?
We provide remote access to all the students to all the resources in the library, which includes periodicals, digital content, project reports, articles from journals, and conferences. The students will give seminars, and minor and major projects by referring to various papers in the journals. Most of the students write research articles focused on their projects. The students actively participate in International Conferences and present their research papers.
