You have held a key position at Education Institute throughout your personal career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
The beauty of the education sector lies in the fact that everybody is a student. I've been teaching for the last 13 years as a teacher, but I still consider myself a student. As educators, we get to learn so many things from the students and from industry experts. Similarly, the students are also learning from us through their interactions with leaders and experts in their chosen fields. There is a huge scope for learning and if one manages to keep this mindset, it helps them grow and become better educators.
How does the curriculum of this college ensure the best practice in the industry?
Our college is affiliated to the Maulana Abula Kalamajal University of Technology and our curriculum is prescribed by them. The curriculum is designed to prepare the students for their industry by learning different theoretical aspects of management technology. And at the same time, we also give them projects and assignments to get a feel of the practical field. SVIMCS also sends the students for internships where they learn on the job. They get hands-on learning while they get trained by industry experts. Our curriculum is the perfect blend of this theoretical training and apprentice-based training.

How do you establish healthy relationships and involvement in your college?
Establishing healthy relationships between the students and the college involve a great deal of student-teacher interactions. Our teachers prioritize spending most of their time with the students in the classroom. During my classes, after teaching my subjects, I spend a minimum of 15 minutes trying to clarify the student’s doubts. Only when they are done, I'm done with the class. Students have the freedom to come to us, meet the faculties at their offices, and clarify their doubts. We also organize various events like the freshers welcome farewell ceremony and different startup weeks where students and teachers get to interact with one another and bond.
What are the biggest challenges you see both for higher education in the general and for the colleges especially?
The biggest challenge, today, is to make students employable. While educational institutes are producing candidates with degrees, their employability remains a question. Our focus is to make the students possess the right industry-demanded skills and practical knowledge. Right from the very beginning, we expose them to the practical aspects of their field where they undergo various training programs. We offer several courses that are perfect to upskill and perfect their resumes. We are working continuously towards our goal to make our students more and more employable.
When you come to this college, what was your vision, and how you are trying to achieve the same?
My aspiration, since I joined SVIMCS, was always to grow with the institute. I always wanted to see the institute grow in terms of size and quality. In the span of ten years with the institute, I had seen tremendous growth in student numbers. When we started off with the BBA degree, I taught management to 30 students with only 30 seats. Now the intake has grown to 190 students. Not only have the student population grown but I have also grown together with the college.
As a professional, I want to contribute positively to two fields, teaching and research. I have taught several courses and subjects SVIMCS and have also contributed in terms of research. Some of my research papers have been published in reputed journals. Recently, I submitted a paper in Imbutagaya that has been accepted for publication that I will present in the upcoming month of April.
Any suggestion you would like to give the current youth and the Spring students?
My suggestion for new students is that you have to be flexible, be open-minded and also have to accept new ideas and evolution to be successful. And success is the ultimate destination.
