Dr. Ramam Sripada is the HOD-Pharmacy Practice at GIET School of Pharmacy, Rajahmundry. His qualifications include a B.Pharm., Pharm.D (PB)., and Ph.D. He has a total of 10 years of professional experience. He has 39 publications and 2 patents under his wing. Being the HOD of GIET School of Pharmacy what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
According to my point of view, leadership means inspiring someone to do things in a better way with intellectual decision-making, along with the overall coordination of individuals. To inspire others, the leader should have the potential to evaluate the calibre and commitment of the individuals. A true leader should not only inspire with his words but also with his nature and commitment towards the goal.
The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?
The concept of applied learning can be gained by the student if he/she is a part of our institution.
How does the curriculum of GIET School of Pharmacy ensure the best practice of the industry?
GIET School of Pharmacy follows the curriculum designed by the Pharmacy Council of India which is sound in both the theoretical and practical perspectives. Minor and major projects done by the students not only ensure the best practice of the industry but also the best practice for clinical settings. Industrial visits and real-time case studies in hospital visits make the students confident in dealing with these aspects.

What do you think should be the Institute's top priority over the next 5 years?
Upgradation to the autonomous institution and also achieving the university status by providing high-quality education and research with sophisticated resources and facilities.
What do you see as your Institute's greatest strengths?
Most of the faculty members are well-experienced with Ph.D. degrees. Classrooms with ICT facilities and labs with sophisticated equipment are there with advanced infrastructure. MoUs with various hospitals and industries are also significant strengths of our institution that keep our students ahead in the aspect of advanced learning.
What would you like people to know about your college they may not know?
We are having the MoU with one of the top universities "The University of California", Berkeley in the aspect of "Business Model Creation"- A project-based practicum on data analytics and artificial intelligence.
Any message you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
One message that I would like to give to my aspiring students is
As a pharmacist- When compared to other professionals we should be more responsible as we are dealing with the lives of the patients.
