You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

Throughout my professional journey, I've been fortunate to hold significant roles within educational institutions. What keeps me deeply connected to the education sector is the multifaceted nature of learning. As an educator, my passion has always been to establish an institution where education is infused with the values that make us truly human. I take immense pride in seeing my vision of creating a high-quality educational institution gradually come to fruition. I firmly believe in the adage that "excellence is never an accident; it's always the result of high intention, sincere efforts, intelligent direction, and skilful execution." At Universal Group of Institutions, our focus is on providing students with comprehensive development opportunities. We aim to create a nurturing environment that exposes students to a wide range of experiences, including preparation for competitive examinations conducted by both central and state governments, such as civil services like IAS & IPS, SSC, KAS, and others.

Being the Founder what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

My leadership philosophy is to be empathetic and inclusive for the betterment of workplace conditions in my institute. As the Founder, my philosophy of leadership centres around empathy and inclusivity to enhance the working conditions within my institute. To me, leadership transcends mere direction or instruction; it involves motivating students to reach their goals. I continuously strive to understand myself better to strengthen every aspect of my leadership. I believe in influencing students through a combination of logic, emotion, and collaboration, fostering the development of leadership qualities essential for their personal growth. My singular vision for students is encapsulated in the phrase "Arise, Awake, and Ascend." At Universal Group of Institutions, we are committed to providing our students with exceptional training that not only encourages critical thinking but also fosters the ability to synthesize knowledge and reflect on their own thoughts.

How does the curriculum of Universal Group of Institutions ensure the best practice of industry?

While UCC offers classroom coaching and guidance for IAS, IPS and IFS at a post-degree stage, UGI also provides an integrated course which is a unique blend of a graduate course (BA, B.COM and BA LLB five Year Course) and a civil services mentorship program. Our mission in UGI is to provide a focused, fast-tracked and well-structured program so that students can enter into the elite 'Top-100' category in competitive exams like IAS, IPS and IFS by polishing their skills and honing personalities.

What do you think should be the Institute's top priority over the next 10 years?

Over the next decade, we will be providing students with a platform to guide them in preparation for Civil Service exams. I would want more and more students to identify their goals for serving the nation at a very early age. Ten years down the line, I want a maximum number of students to join our institution so that we get an opportunity to help shape their future. We are planning to introduce online certificate courses in the subjects of Management, Environment, Leadership and Human Rights. The introduction of these courses online will help students to get certification through online mode. Planning is also going on for introducing one of the important courses of civil service exam i.e. Ethics and Integrity.

What has been your vision for the institute?

The vision at Universal Group of Institutions is to offer holistic development to students. Giving them an environment with versatile exposure towards competitive examinations conducted by central and state governments like IAS and IPS, SSC, and KAS among others. Apart from this, the vision is also to make UGI the premier hub for training, coaching and producing skilful youth. The ultimate goal is to produce a new generation with critical minds and champions of change who can contribute to the policy-making of the country.

What would you like people to know about your Institution they may not know?

We are working at helping aspiring students crack the civil services examination and allowing holistic development. In a country where very few educational institutions prioritize integrated education alongside preparation for civil services immediately after higher secondary, we take pride in our commitment to this endeavour. Preparing for one of the toughest exams demands patience, perseverance, and unwavering determination. At our institution, we inspire students to pursue these goals without having to compromise on their pursuit of a graduation degree. Moreover, we understand the importance of nurturing students' passions and hobbies, recognizing them as essential prerequisites for a balanced and fulfilling life. Thus, alongside academic rigour, we ensure that our students have ample opportunities to explore and cultivate their interests, contributing to their overall well-being.

What do you see as Universal Group of Institutions' greatest strengths?

Our integrated approach to education stands out as a defining strength of the institution. With a team of experienced faculties and dedicated administrative staff, we ensure that students receive top-notch guidance and support throughout their academic journey. Additionally, our commitment to continuous evaluation, facilitated through mentorship programs, regular test series, and a wide array of co-curricular activities, further enhances the educational experience for our students, making it one of our key strengths.

What are some of the biggest challenges for higher education?

One significant challenge facing higher education is the decline in originality and innovation in research. In our rapidly advancing world, technology offers numerous benefits, but it also presents drawbacks. In the realm of education, the abundance of readily available resources has led to a reduction in the pursuit of genuine knowledge. Many students now rely heavily on easily accessible reading materials and assignments, resulting in a lack of critical thinking and a diminished capacity for true research and analysis. This trend poses a significant challenge to higher education institutions. Another major challenge lies in the prevailing mindset among students, who often prioritize reaching their goals quickly without being willing to endure any form of difficulty or pressure. This mentality contributes to a superficial approach to learning and undermines the depth of understanding and growth that should be inherent in higher education.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth?

I strongly believe that the youth of today should cultivate a genuine thirst for knowledge to unlock their full potential. As APJ Abdul Kalam famously remarked, "Man needs his difficulties because they are necessary to enjoy success." In today's world, myriad distractions can make it challenging for young people to navigate the path to their goals. What the youth truly need is guidance and direction. I want them to understand that each one of them is special, with unique abilities and the potential to achieve their dreams. They need to embrace this uniqueness and channel their energies into pursuits that will enrich their lives and contribute positively to society.
