Dr. Manjeet Kaur Arora is the Principal at Indore International College. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Plant Pathology at the Doctoral level. She has five years of research experience and 18 years of training experience. She has been awarded the Women researcher award from INSO in 2022.

You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
Teaching and research are my passions. I don’t just teach students, I also have to keep upskilling and learning the current trends. My Passion for Teaching and Learning and staying abreast with the latest industry trends has made me excel as an educator. I emphasize three critical factors that keep me connected with the education sector. I enjoy working towards finding, evaluating, organizing, using, and communicating information during notable situations such as problem-solving. According to me, elementary education is very important for a student's career. Students need to develop a deeper understanding of their degrees.When teachers are passionate about their subject matter and teaching methods, they are more motivated to create engaging lessons and inspire their students.
Being the Principal of IIC, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
I would describe my leadership style as democratic. I continuously try to empower the team, and make them participate in the decisions we make in the system.I always allow people to participate and be involved in all the activities, and I also help them to take responsibility and a friendly approach.I try to be a transformational leader inspiring and motivating my team by setting high expectations and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement to bring about significant positive change.
Being the Principal of IIC, how do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?
We bring out student’s talent through various activities. At the same time, our mantra is to do 50% of academic activities inside the classrooms, and 50% of the experiential learning towards 100% placements, so experiential learning will be one of the tools of success in the educational strategies. We have value-added courses for the student which will help them learn new things and increase their learning curve. Every student going out of college is a brand ambassador. Our students are very grounded and rooted in the positive values of our society.
The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?
The education pattern in India has a different blending than that of foreign varieties. The foreign education curriculum contains everything from Skills to sports, along with studies. The Indian education system lacks flexibility and specialization options.

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?
The institute recognizes and rewards the students for their meritorious achievements in academics. These act as incentives and as encouragement for meritorious students who have achieved high ranks. For our students to participate and perform in class, providing insight into some factors that may explain assessment responses that differ from our expectations.
What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?
We believe that as the Principal and faculty of Indore International College, it is our utmost duty to make the staff and students believe that they are a part of the team.
What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?
I think our top priority, over the next 10 years, should be to continue providing students with a premium quality education. I firmly believe IIC would be considered as a Centre of Excellence in the coming years.
When you first came to IIC, what was your vision for the university? Has it evolved over time, and how far along in implementing that vision are you?
The Institute seeks to help students to develop an understanding and appreciation for the complex cultural and physical worlds in which they live and to realize their highest potential for intellectual, physical, and human development.

What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?
We believe in quality education and bringing about social transformation, which is very important today. We believe in creating leaders through innovations and encouraging entrepreneurship, which is one of the key aspects. Through our pro bono clinics, legal aid services, and community outreach initiatives that have a beneficial impact, our dedication to social responsibility is clear outside of the campus. We actively encourage diversity and inclusion by establishing a climate of respect and equality and by making our campus a friendly place for students from various backgrounds. We are committed to sustainability efforts, and on campus, there are many green projects and eco-friendly practices.
What do you see as IIC’s greatest strengths?
Experienced faculty with enhanced academic structure and well-shaped educational criteria.As far as strength is concerned: cultural values and moral responsibilities are rooted and well-trained research oriented, experienced, dedicated teaching faculty. We offer innovative interdisciplinary programs that prepare students for the complex challenges of the modern legal landscape. These strengths collectively position our college as a respected institution that not only produces skilled legal professionals but also cultivates responsible leaders who can address the evolving legal and societal issues of our time.
What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for Indore International College specifically?
Increasing need for life-long learning in a non-linear world. The biggest challenge for our college is motivation among the students. It is essential to continue research efforts despite financial obstacles and to make sure that it continues to address social demands. It is difficult to modify instructional strategies to accommodate various learning preferences, such as online and experiential learning. Institutions face difficulties navigating complicated regulatory environments and compliance requirements.
Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
We have all the resources and the right faculty members in our college that will help the students to reach their goals.Don't lose hope, be as smart and patient as nothing stops you from what you wish to achieve. Maintain high moral standards both in your private and work lives. Long-term success requires a high level of integrity and ethics.
Develop a global perspective. Accept variety and look for opportunities to learn from various cultures and viewpoints. View failure as a stepping stone to success rather than something to be feared. Many outstanding accomplishments are the result of failure-related lessons.
What are some plans that you’re currently (or will be) designing for IIC’s international affairs and/ or students?
Improving new language skills; growing global networks of lifelong friendships through immersion in local communities.International tie-ups for the betterment of the institution as a whole. In order to give our students an additional opportunity to study abroad, we are attempting to strengthen our alliances with overseas universities. Our students will be able to encounter other legal systems and obtain a global perspective through these exchanges.
How do you tend to establish a healthy relationship and environment in your institute/ university?
Staying Connected with Students. Come Up with Projects Students Can Get Excited About. Create a Sense of Order and Routine. Positively Reinforce Good Behavior. We actively involve students in decision-making processes, student groups, and other activities and extracurriculars, giving them the freedom to take charge of their studies and campus life. We make investments in faculty development to make sure that our teachers are prepared to deliver the best instruction possible. To further our commitment to social responsibility, we interact with the neighborhood through partnerships, pro bono work, and legal clinics. Our goal is to establish a positive and dynamic environment that encourages all members of the Liberal College of Law community to succeed and develop by fostering a culture of respect, inclusivity, support, and involvement.
