NBE has released the revised result for the NEET MDS on September 18, 2024. This time the qualifying percentile will be low for all categories. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced a 21.692 percentile reduction to address the increasing number of vacant seats in dental colleges nationwide. The new qualifying percentile for general category is 28.308, for SC/ST/OBC it has been reduced to 18.308 and for UR-PwD candidates it is 23.308.
This move is taken to allow a greater number of candidates to qualify the exam in various specializations like Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, and Periodontics. Candidates who were previously ineligible under the higher cut-off will now be able to participate in the counseling and admission process.
