NBEMS has announced tentative exam date for NEET MDS on the official website. As per the official notice, NEET MDS is scheduled for 2 May 2026 and the cutoff date for internship completion is 31 May 2026.

NEET MDS examination is conducted by NBEMS once every year to offer students admission to MDS course in various participating colleges. NBEMS is likely to release the NEET MDS official notification for registration process in February 2026.

To be eligible for NEET MDS, students must have completed a BDS program and must have completed a 1-year compulsory rotatory internship.
NBEMS will conduct NEET MDS exam in CBT mode for a duration of 3 hours. There will be a total of 240 MCQs, carrying a total of 960 marks. Marking Scheme for NEET MDS includes +4 for each correct answer and -1 for each incorrect answer.
Syllabus for NEET MDS is based on the subjects studied by aspirants during the BDS course.

What is NEET MDS 2026?

NEET MDS is conducted by NBEMS for admission to MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) under

Dentists Act, 1948. The examination is conducted for admission to 50% AIQ seats, State quota seats, and MDS courses at all private dental colleges across the country.

MDS courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions are also offered based on NEET MDS entrance examination. Moreover, NEET MDS is also conducted as a screening test for dental surgeons (BDS & MDS) for Short Service Commission in Army Dental Corps.

NEET MDS 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for NEET MDS are released along with the NEET MDS Information Bulletin. As per the NEET MDS eligibility criteria, students must have completed BDS from a recognized university in India.

Students must be registered with the State Dental Council and have obtained provisional or permanent registration.
Aspirants must have completed a compulsory 1-year rotatory internship in an approved/recognised dental college.
Only candidates who complete the 1-year rotatory internship by 31 March 2026 can take up the NEET MDS examination.

NEET MDS Registration Fees

NEET MDS registration fee is likely to be same as last year’s NEET MDS fee. As per the NEET MDS registration fee published in the NEET MDS information bulletin, Students belonging to the General/OBC/EWS Category must pay NEET MDS application fee of INR 3500. However, for SC/ST/PWD candidates, the NEET MDS application fee is INR 2500.

NEET MDS 2026 Exam Pattern

NEET MDS 2026 will be conducted in CBT mode with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) asked in NEET MDS examination. As per the NEET SS information bulletin, there will be a total of 250 MCQs in NEET MDS question paper, and each MCQ will have 4 options.

NEET MDS exam duration will be 3 hours. As per the NEET MDS marking scheme, students will get a maximum of 4 marks for each correct answer, and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer from the overall score. There will be no negative marking for unattempted questions in NEET MDS question paper.

NEET MDS Admit Card 2026

NMEMS will make NEET MDS admit cards available on the official website. Students can download NEET MDS admit card at natboard.edu.in. For candidates not eligible for NEET MDS, admit card will not be issued.

Aspirants will be notified via SMS/Email and website notification once the NEET MDS admit cards are made available by NBEMS.
NEET MDS admit card will mention details like roll number of the candidate, personal details of the candidate, exam center name & address, date, and timing of the examination.

NEET MDS Result 2026

Once the NEET MDS exam is conducted, NBEMS will prepare the NEET MDS results. Once the result for NEET MDS is released, students can check their NEET MDS results by visiting the official website of NBEMS. NEET MDS result will be available in the form of NEET MDS merit list PDF. Students can also download their NEET MDS score card using NBEMS login credentials.

Before the release of NEET MDS results, any question in NEET MDS can be challenged for technical errors.
After the release of NEET MDS result, no re-evaluation or rechecking or re-totaling will be allowed.
Validity of NEET MDS result 2026 will only be valid for 2026 admission session for MDS course.

NEET MDS 2026 Cutoff

NEET MDS cutoff is determined based on the NEET MDS qualifying marks. As per the NEET MDS qualifying criteria, students belonging to the general/EWS category must score a minimum of the 50th percentile. Candidates belonging to reserved categories must score at least the 45th percentile marks.
