With UP Board 12th Result 2024 coming soon, students awaiting their results are wondering about various courses they can pursue after their class 12 results. However, irrespective of your stream, you have to appear for entrance exams to get admitted to the undergraduate course of your choice.

Depending on whether you wish to pursue engineering, medicine, law, design, or any other field, you can appear for exams like JEE, NEET, CLAT, NID DAT, etc. The application forms for some exams have already been released whereas they will be out for others soon. For all major exams, the minimum eligibility is passing class 12 with the required minimum marks in its compulsory subjects. Those awaiting their results are eligible to apply and appear for the exam. However, the final admission will be subject to the marks obtained in your UP Board 12th Result 2024. JEE Main and JEE Advanced

NTA conducts JEE Main and JEE Advanced for students who aspire to take admission in B.Tech and B.Arch courses in the prestigious IITs, NITs, GFTIs, and other top engineering colleges. You need to first appear for JEE Main, only the top 2.5 lakh candidates who qualify JEE Main will sit for JEE Advanced.

Eligibility:

  • Students must have passed class 12 or an equivalent qualifying exam in 2022, or 2023, with a minimum of 75% marks for General/EWS/OBC, and 65% for SC/ST.
  • Candidates who are appearing for class 12 exams in 2024.
  • No age limit is defined for JEE Main or Advanced.
  • Candidates must have studied Maths and Physics as compulsory subjects.

Exam Dates:

  • JEE Main Session 1 - January 24, 27, 29, 30, 31, and February 1, 2024
  • JEE Main Session 2 - April 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 2024 (B.Tech), April 12, 2024 (B.Arch/B.Plan)
  • JEE Advanced - May 26, 2024

BITSAT

BITSAT is conducted by Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani) for admission to integrated first-degree BE, B.Pharm, and M.Sc programmes at its Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses. The exam is conducted in CBT (online) mode.

Eligibility:

  • For Admission to Programmes except B.Pharm - Candidates must have passed class 12 from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.
  • For Admission to B.Pharm - Candidates must have passed class 12 from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects. However, candidates with PCM can also apply for Pharmacy.

  • Session II - June 22 to June 26, 2024

NEET

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) is an entrance exam conducted by NTA for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in government and private medical colleges across India. The exam is conducted as a pen-paper test on OMR sheets for 3 hours and 20 minutes.

Eligibility:

  • Candidate must be 17 years of age at the time of admission or will be completing 17 years on or before December 31 of the same year of his/her admission to the first year.
  • There is no upper age limit to appear for NEET UG exam.
  • Candidates must have passed or are appearing for class 12 exams with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as the main subjects.
  • Candidates who have passed class 12 from open school or as private candidates are not eligible to appear for the exam.
  • Candidates who had Biology or Biotechnology as optional subjects are also not eligible.

AILET (All India Law Entrance Test) is a national-level law entrance exam conducted by National Law University (NLU) Delhi for admission to B.A L.L.B (Hons.), L.L.M, and Ph.D. programmes. The exam is conducted in offline mode every year in December.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must have passed class 12 from a recognized institute with a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/PwD) marks.
  • Candidates appearing for their class 12 exams are also eligible for AILET.
  • There is no minimum or maximum age limit to appear for AILET.

Exam Date: December 10, 2023 (For 2024 admissions)

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance test conducted for admissions to 22 national law universities in India. CLAT scores are accepted in some private law colleges also. The exam is held in offline mode generally in December.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 45% marks for General/OBC/PwD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and 40% for SC/ST categories in class 12.

CUET UG

CUET UG (Common University Entrance Test) is conducted by NTA for admission to undergraduate courses in the participating Central and State Universities in India. Most of the premier universities including Delhi University now consider CUET scores for UG admissions. The exam is conducted in a hybrid mode (both pen paper and CBT mode).

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must have passed or are appearing for class 12 exams to be eligible for CUET UG.
  • There is no age limit for CUET UG, however, candidates should check the age requirements of specific universities or colleges to which they are applying.
