Colleges Where I Was Accepted
Reason for choosing my college
- Because Lambton offered a two-year program, which aligned better with my goal of obtaining a longer post graduation work permit (PGWP) compared to Algoma's one-year program, that's the reason I choose Lambton over Algoma.
Colleges Where I Was Rejected
Reason for Rejection
- I did not get an offer from George brown because the program was already full for my intake since lambton offered two year course, which suited my PGWP goals, I chose it as the best alternative even I am not able to find my interested course in GBC.

Admission Experience
- I chose Canada for its quality education and career prospects. Lambton College in Sarnia offered an industry-focused AI program, affordable tuition, and a peaceful environment the hands-on learning , supportive faculty, and strong industry ties enhanced my skills my experience was enriching, both academically and socially.
Class Schedule
- In my program of artificial intelligence and machine learning, we typically have 4 classes a week, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The average class size is about 25-30 students, with 95% of the cohort being Indian. Apart from regular classes, I dedicate about 1 hour daily for assignments and self-study at home.
Faculty
- The faculty-to-student ratio is favorable, with personalized attention. Faculty members are approachable and always ready to help with academic queries. The best faculties include those with industry experience, offering practical insight. they also assist in job opportunities, providing valuable reference for jobs
Campus Life
- Lambton College has one campus in Sarnia with excellent facilities like a library, sport amenities, and a medical center. Popular events include International Week and Orientation Day. Extracurriculars include tech clubs, sport activities and student government, fostering personal and professional growth.
Part Time Jobs
- Most Indian students prefer part-time jobs in retail, food services and delivery. On average, they earn about $15 to $16 per hour. These jobs are relatively easy to find , especially through online job portals or word of mouth. The usual application process involves submitting resumes and attending interviews.
- On-campus part-time opportunities include TA/RA roles, which are offered to a few students based on academic performance, with pay typically ranging from $15 to $20 per hour. Other jobs, like in library or student services, pay minimum wages; off-campus students can work up to 20 hours per week during studies.

- Approximately 8% of graduates secure full-time jobs within 6 months; most earn CAD 40k-60k annually, with salaries ranging from CAD 35k to over CAD 70k.
- Students typically find jobs via career fairs, online portals, alumni networks and campus recruitment events. Even if anyone has a reference, they can schedule an interview for them.
Accommodation
- I found my accommodation through online rental websites, local facebook groups and agents. The main challenges were intense competition and limited affordable options near campus. I recommend starting early and exploring multiple platforms for the best results, even Facebook Marketplace and community groups.
