KMC MS Ophthalmology Fees
MS Ophthalmology at Katihar Medical College has an annual tuition fee of Rs. 22.50 lakhs for both General and Muslim Minority category students. Over the 3-year programme, the total tuition fee amounts to Rs. 67.50 lakhs. In addition, a one-time University Registration Fee of Rs. 18,000 is payable at the time of admission. Hostel accommodation is compulsory for all MS students at Rs. 3,00,000 per year (Rs. 9,00,000 for 3 years). Student Amenities and Services Fee of Rs. 50,000 per year (Rs. 1,50,000 for 3 years) is also charged. A refundable security deposit of Rs. 3,00,000 is payable at the time of admission. Examination, thesis evaluation, and convocation fees are charged additionally as notified by the university.

- The refundable security deposit of Rs. 3,00,000 is payable at the time of admission and will be refunded after deducting dues on completion of the course.
- All fees are payable annually at the beginning of each academic year (5th May or as notified).
- A late fine of Rs. 1,000 per day is charged for delayed payment.
- NRI candidates are not available for MS Ophthalmology; only General and Muslim Minority category seats exist.
- Candidates with a recognised 2-year postgraduate diploma in Ophthalmology (DO) are required to pay tuition fee equivalent to 3 years of the MS course, paid over 2 years.
- A candidate once admitted cannot leave without paying fees for the remaining period of the course and must also refund the stipend received if leaving before completion.
- Fee structure is subject to revision based on the outcome of Writ Petition (Civil) No. 682 of 2023 pending in the Supreme Court regarding fee fixation at par with Government Medical College fees.
- Fee concession is available for eligible students (see Scholarships section).
- Monthly stipend received during the programme partially offsets the fee burden: total stipend over 3 years is Rs. 32,57,040.
