National Institute of Occupational Health Ahmedabad Course Admission 2026: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Associate Fellow of Industrial Health (AFIH) is a three months full time Post Graduate Certificate course in Industrial Health approved by Directorate General Factory Advice Service & Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. 

On completion of course, an examination will be conducted by DGFASLI. The candidates successful in clearing the examination will be awarded a certification of Associate Fellow of Industrial Health (AFIH) which fulfils the requirements of additional qualification for Factory Medical Officers of Hazardous Process Industries as required under the Factories (Amendment) Act 1987.

NIOH Ahmedabad AFIH (PG Course) Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should have obtained a MBBS Degree from an Institution recognised by the Medical Council of India.
• Completion of Internship
• The candidate should have Permanent Registration with the State Medical Council/ Medical Council of India
• The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 1 year experience in Industry or relevant field of occupational health or 2 years experience otherwise, after completion of compulsory internship.

NIOH Ahmedabad AFIH (PG Course) Selection Criteria

• The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the candidate's academic qualification, experience and type of industry employed.
• The candidates will be selected on the basis of the order of preference.
• The shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview at ICMR-NIOH, Ahmedabad.

NIOH AFIH (PG Course) Cut Off

• The cut off list for admission to Associate Fellow of Industrial Health (AFIH) will be on the basis of academic qualification, experience and type of industry employed.
• Only the name and the category of the candidate will be mentioned on the merit list.

How to Apply for AFIH (PG Course) at NIOH Ahmedabad?

• Interested candidates can collect the prospectus and application form personally at ICMR-NIOH, Ahmedabad on payment of ₹ 500
• The prospectus and application form can also be downloaded from the institute website.
• The candidates along with duly-filled application form and self-attested photocopies of certificates shall report at the institute.
• The envelope containing the application form should be super scribed “APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO AFIH 2019 "

NIOH Ahmedabad Dissertation/Summer Training Eligibility Criteria

• The candidates should be pursuing master degree in any branch of Life Science/ Microbiology/ Chemistry /Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biostatistics/ Bioinformatics/ Pharmacy/ Computer Science/ Environmental Science/ Veterinary Science or M. Tech. in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Computer Science or MCA.
• The candidates pursuing integrated M.Sc. degree should have completed at least three years of such course.

NIOH Ahmedabad Dissertation / Summer Training Selection Criteria

• Selection criteria should be merit based giving emphasis on percentages of B.Sc. and M.Sc. (1st year) marks, laboratory experience, soft skills such as writing capacity in English, communication skills, scientific data extraction and area of research interest

• The candidates with good academic performance will be preferred.
• The candidates available for a full time Dissertation / Summer Training during the course duration will be preferred.
• The number of candidates selected each year varies depending upon availability of the supervisor.
• The list of the selected candidates will be available on the official website of National Institute of Occupational Health (NIOH).
• The selected candidates will be intimated through email.

NIOH Dissertation/Summer Training Cut Off

The list of candidates selected for dissertation / summer training will be based on percentages of B.Sc. and M.Sc. (1st year) marks, laboratory experience, soft skills such as writing capacity in English, communication skills, scientific data extraction and area of research interest
