Insight of Silchar medical college

Faculty:

Faculty is quite good and the ratio is good except some subjects like biochemistry. Although most of the teachers are helping and have a good attitude towards students but some teachers are too strict towards curriculum and takes away the fun of teaching. I will not give names but some teachers are so strict that he will not allow to enter the class if anyone is late for 2-3 minutes. There are 3 exams in each year except in 3rd year there is 2 exams. And all the years have a final exam. The exams are quite tough as to pass we neet to score 50% marks in subjects. The course is totally relevant to curriculum. In 125 student sometimes 15-20 student fail the exams.

As I entered this institution, I found most (not all) of the professors are passionate about their subjects and their way of delivering the lecture is phenomenal. They are literally supportive and doesn't hesitate to clear the doubts of students.

Faculty:

Talking about the faculty to students ratio, for each faculty there are around 20-30 students. The faculty-student relationship is literally good , they are supportive, most of them are always ready to clear the doubts of students until and unless we get the concepts crystal clear. Moreover, the mentorship program has been introduced recently that enables the students to share their daily experiences with the faculty that includes things apart from their academic life as well.

Teachers are very supportive. Most of them teach very well and if you ask them for help, anyone would love to help you. They're very enthusiastic.

Faculty to student ratio vary from dept to dept. In most of the dept there is 1 faculty for each 20-30 students. Faculties are very polite and approachable. They're always happy to help and teach you. They won't be mad at you for asking doubts and questions rather they'll be mad if u don't ask them anything. Also they're enthusiastic about extracurricular activities. They take part in college events like sports, music, dance, bands, comedy etc.

Faculty to student ratio is very good nor very bad. Just average. There are 3 internal exams and 2 final proff exam. Curriculum is according to MCI and taught on slides mostly. Most faculty are good if you behave well.

Facilities: The teacher here are amazing and the campus is beautiful situated in the valley of Barak.

Classes are 6 days a week. There are more than 4-5 teachers for each subject. Teacher age - 30-45 years. Most junior teacher will be a PG student. Lecturers specialize in their field. Almost all teachers have excellent work experience
