Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education & Research Faculty

The faculty at the college are highly approachable and supportive, with a student-to-faculty ratio of 1:30, ensuring personalized attention. The faculty, including tutors, assistant professors, associate professors, the Head of Department, and the Dean, are dedicated to helping students, especially during the challenging first year. Faculty are available to assist with academic and non-academic difficulties and are known for delivering life-changing lessons. The medicine department is noted to be somewhat challenging to understand.

The course spans 5.5 years, comprising 4 years of study and a 1-year internship at the college hospital. Each academic year includes four exams: two internal exams, prelims, and a final university exam. Although many students struggle with the internal exams, most succeed in the final university exam. The college is affiliated with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, which encompasses eight colleges in South Gujarat, including GMERS and GMC.
