Review of a Fourth Year Guy

Likes

The ambient environment gives a peace of mind. During the rain, it's even better.
New management, launched a new cafeteria in the college and it's positioned in a perfect place. It's a nice place to hangout and relax.
Now there are various programs conducted, which is a relaxation for students.

Dislikes

Infrastructure quality is poor in some areas, like in some classrooms, the electronics are not properly working, like, fans not working, projector not working, lights blinking, etc. Some toilet taps aren't working properly.
Some labs have poorly working fans, not working AC's, very old laggy PC's.
A few of the teachers are overly strict and non supportive of the students. Very few are like torture for students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very old and must be improved to be on par with the ever expanding new technologies. I took this course, since I have a passion in programming. But there are various subjects which are minimal to no - relevant towards my department, which is IT. Chemistry, Chemistry Lab, Physics, Physics lab, Maths ( even though some parts of maths and physics is needed, it can be joined with the other programming subjects so that only things that are specifically necessary are being teached and both, being a seperate subject is unnecessary ), Engineering Graphics, Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical, Civil, Mech Lab, Civil Lab, and all other non-credit subjects ( if there is no credit, why studying ? ). And can include more subjects revolving around various programming languages such as, C++, C#, Kotlin, React, etc.

Likes

The first thing I like about the college is the support from the teaching staff and their helping mentality.
There is a stage for showing our talents.
There is a space for sharing our ideas like startup ideas and project funding.

Dislikes

At first few semesters there was a thing like boys and girls should not sit in the same seat.
The second is the fees that is to be paid, as a middle class family this amount is difficult for me.
More benefits are for hostelers as they can play games after class

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to attend the placement drives once they are at the seventh semester.There are a lot of companies coming here.I think the average package offered is around 10lakhs per annum and my senior got placed with a job which offered him 55 lpa.The more opportunities are for the it industries but there are also opportunities for other branches.

Likes

I cant say about other departments but the faculty in IT department are very good. Very friendly faculty who support each student very well.
Startups are encouraged well in our college. There is a proper working environment for them unlike other colleges.
The events are very good nowadays since the management has changed in 2024. The campus has become student friendly ever since the new management has come.

Dislikes

The hostel food is not that great according to my friends (I am a day scholar). Even though everyday except friday you get non veg the quality is a question mark.
The number of technical events happening are less compared to cultural ones which is not that a big problem but a con
The labs need to be more modern like more modern powerful systems. The ones there are working but more powerful and modern computers are needed.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester you are eligible for campus placements. In the end of sixth semester you will be given trainging for aptitude, technical, and other professional etiquttes to be followed in a placement. Some of our top recruiters are SOTI, Safran, UST, Cognizant. There are many other companies also coming.

College that I experienced

Likes

Atmosphere of the college is very excellent compared to all other engineering colleges
Provides huge opportunities for students
Good lab facilities for practicals and experimental activities

Dislikes

Teaching is not much good as the teachers put more pressure upon students
Management is not upto the level in many cases
Very bad hostel food and hostel staffs especially the wardens

Placement Experience:

The placement cell in our college is very less interested in sending their students to high paying companies. Barely a few companies very offered jobs in the academic section and only a few students have got placed. During the 4th year only they start preparing for the placement drives without giving much preparation to the students. Most companies that have visited is some local companies that provide very low package

Faculty are very good and also very supportive
Clean and neat campus and very calm atmosphere
Updated technology and syllabus are added in each semester

Dislikes

I didnt like the hostel warden she is very disturbing character
Hostel food some days very low quality food provide
Not provide college bus to students they didnt provide such facility

Likes

Good infrastructure and good climate in this college
Canteen food quality is not compressible
Lab facilities are good lab facilities are well

Dislikes

Food quality is bad and billing counter bill staff facility is too bad
No freedom for not go to outside the students
College management is so strict for programs

Mostly I like automobile so I choose automobile engineering and this college is one of the top college for engineering so I choose this college the course is not based on modern technology that needs to be. Improved

Amal Jyothi college of Engineering in my eyes

Likes

Infrastructure is very good and the college location is so good
Faculties are great and of good knowledge
Extra class for students with weak academics in the evening

Dislikes

There are only 2 or 3 counters in canteen
Outpass for hostellers is not available everyday to eat food from outside
Time to stay in the campus should be increased

I choosed this course because of my passion and the descision was great Areas for improvement is to change the syllabus of the university the syllabus is old as we are studying old methods and parts of the vehicle

Likes

The college is good and all and also it has a really big and good campus.And also the freinds and facultys are also great.
The college in regards with the placement some courses has placements but some do not have
The support and guidance this college is providing is not bad and it is great.

Dislikes

Some things i dislike about the college is there food as they do not have intrest in making good food
Also sometimes the facultys at certain times can be a little over strict

The course i took is chemical engineering and it has a really good scope in the future.Our teachers and curriculum are doing their best efforts to bring us the awareness of how relevant and useful this course can be.

The college atmosphere is excellent and nice
The management of the college provides activities and programs for the students
Ragging is extremely prohibited in our campus

Dislikes

The teaching of some subjects need to be improved
The interval time that they provide for the students need to be increased
There is some group formation among the students reducing unity

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course that I choose is electronics and communication. I choosed it because it is the future of our world. My college provides a good environment for an electronics and communication engineer but I think more practicals and internships need to be held . Then only the students be able to understand everything automatically than theory classes.
