CIEM B.Tech Lateral ECE Admission 2026-27
Admission to the B.Tech Lateral Entry (ECE) at CIEM is through JELET (Joint Entrance for Lateral Entry to B.Tech) conducted by WBJEEB. The 2025-26 admission cycle saw the JELET exam on October 18, 2025, with counselling in December 2025 and decentralised counselling for vacant seats on February 3, 2026. For 2026-27, similar dates are expected. As of March 2026, admissions for the upcoming session have not yet opened.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must hold a Diploma in ECE, Electronics, Electrical, or related engineering branch from a recognised polytechnic/board.
- Minimum 45% aggregate marks in the Diploma (40% for SC/ST candidates).
- Candidates in the final year of Diploma are also eligible to apply provisionally.
Admission Process
- Appear in JELET (Joint Entrance for Lateral Entry to B.Tech) conducted by WBJEEB and obtain a valid rank.
- Register on the WBJEEB counselling portal during the counselling window.
- Fill in college and course preferences and participate in seat allotment.
- Accept the allotted seat, pay the seat acceptance fee, and report to CIEM for document verification.
- Submit required documents (Diploma mark sheets, JELET scorecard, identity proof, category certificate if applicable).
- Pay the admission fee and complete enrolment formalities at the college.
- Decentralised counselling for vacant seats may be available after regular counselling rounds.
