RGIT Mumbai Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

As since 10th only I did think of engineering. So it was quite simple to choose my EXTC stream because I was very fond of it. Teaching in our college was very much understandable as the faculties were very experienced. Most of the faculties were M.Tech or B.Tech holders. So their concepts were understandable. We used to have 2 term exams and one final exam for each semester. Term exams were of 20 marks and the final exam was of 70 marks and 30 marks practicals 32 was passing marks out of 70. Subjects were good except for some likes of Engineering mechanics, and circuit transmission lines. They were difficult to score.

Regarding placement, it is somewhat good. About eligibility, final year students i.e 7-8th semester students are eligible for campus placement. There are different marks criteria for different companies. Recently Worley burns n McDonell company for core mechanical visited and other companies where mostly IT-based. The highest package in the Mechanical department was 29lakh in 2019. One can expect a 3.5-5 LPA if one gets placed. Before COVID 50-60 per cent of students from the Mechanical branch got placed and others carried on for further studies and other. My plan after getting a degree is will go for a job and according to it, I will master that field.

RGIT provides campus placements for every department. Students are eligible for campus placements after the sixth semester. MNCs such as Wipro, Accenture, Deloitte, Worley, and Tech Mahindra have visited the campus. The number of students being selected varies from company to company. Back in 2018, a Japanese company offered a 20LPA package to a mechanical engineering student. Half of the students take part in placements and the other half prepare for higher studies. I'm yet to decide whether to sit for placements or go for higher studies.

In Semester 7, companies would come for campus placements. TCS, Infosys, Ganit, Capgemini, Relaince Retail, Delta X etc. I think the highest package offered was 8 Lakh LPA. About 60% of the students get placed and many students opt for a Master's.

Particularly in my department, placements are scarce. Not scarce, but the ratio is around 1/7 or 1/8. And this is the scenario throughout Mumbai in engineering colleges. However, college does bring several companies such as WORLI, TCS, and Infosys for placement, and at the end of the day, it depends upon how much you, individually are qualified enough for that job. Moreover, I want to push myself for further studies so I did not indulge myself in the placement scene

Students get eligible for placements in the 7th semester. The placements are not that great. Other colleges got better placements than RGIT. Companies visited for mechanical course till now are : Burns and McDonnell, Worley, reliance retail, and other IT companies. The percentage of students getting placements for mechanical courses is very low compared to IT courses. I am planning on doing a master's after getting the degree.

There is Lots of Scope in IT industry instead of chossing other barch I prefer IT because most of the students of other branch are shifting from their branch to IT Field there is lots of opportunity in IT field. The Teaching method is Very Good. Teachers are well Qualified in their Subject They are masters in Teaching. If we Stuy Properly we will Pass the exam easily

After 3rd-year Students started getting placements there are internships. Popular companies recruit students here TCS , Tech Mahindra, Reliance and many more placements are decent. Placements are definitely focused on mainly 3 streams computer, IT, Extc.

In sem 7, companies like tcs,capgemini,zeus learning,wipro start approaching students with their aptitude and coding exams. placements in mechanical core is difficult to achieve in RGIT,but mechanical students can get IT jobs. Each company has different criteria. the highest package is 25 lakhs and average package is 7.5 lakhs. percentage-wise 90 percent of students get placed in every year.I got offer letter from tcs even though i am from mechanical branch.

Generally, final year students are eligible for placement. Some companies also allow TE students to appear for the placement selection process. Some companies visited are Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Zeus learning, jsw, etc. The average package is about 4-4.5 lac Rs. I want to go for higher education after graduation.
