Ques. Is B.Tech Cyber Security a good choice for career prospects?
Ans. B.Tech Cyber Security is an emerging field with strong career prospects. As a relatively new program (introduced in 2022), SVPCET is building its placement network. The highest package offered is 10 LPA with an average package of 3-3.5 LPA. The field of cyber security is in high demand across industries, government agencies, and financial institutions. Students are encouraged to prepare for GATE exam for better placement opportunities in PSUs and specialized cyber security roles. Many students also opt for higher studies in specialized cyber security programs.
Ques. What is the total cost of the B.Tech Cyber Security program at SVPCET?
Ans. The total fees for the 4-year B.Tech Cyber Security program is approximately 5.49 lakhs for the general category. However, the final fees for AY 2025-2026 will be declared by the Fee Regulating Authority (FRA), Government of Maharashtra. SC/ST students pay approximately 6,000 annually, NTA students pay approximately 22,000 annually, and OBC students pay approximately 80,000 annually. Additionally, scholarships under the Mahadbt scheme and other government schemes can further reduce the financial burden for eligible students.

Ans. Candidates must have passed HSC (10+2) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or related subjects. A minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) is required. Candidates must also obtain a non-zero score in MHT CET 2026 (for Maharashtra state candidates) or JEE Main 2026 (for all-India candidates). The admission process is conducted through the CAP system with multiple rounds.
