Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) is an autonomous institute established in 1989. It is under the administrative control of Govt. of Odisha.

Institute of Life Sciences offers Ph.D. Programme in the field of life sciences in 4 disciplines.

The minimum eligibility criteria for applying in any of the Ph.D courses is, the candidate should have done Master’s in M.Sc./M.Tech./M.Pharma./M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification with min. 60% marks in Life Sciences.
Admission to Ph.D. will be granted to the students who will clear the Entrance Exam followed by Interview.
There is no upper age limit for the Ph.D. course.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST category shall be given a relaxation of 5% of marks at Master level.
The candidates can apply through offline mode.

ILS offers Ph.D. courses in over 4 specializations Science streams. Candidates applying for Ph.D. in any science stream must have passed M.Sc./M.Tech./ M.Pharma./M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification with min. 60% marks in life sciences and allied subjects. Admission to the Ph.D. course is done on the basis of valid score in the Entrance exam and Interview conducted by the Nodal center.

The age of the candidate applying should be below 28 years of age as on May 14, 2024.
The candidates belonging to SC/ST/women/PH category will be gives 5 years of age relaxation whereas it is 3 years in the case of OBC candidates.
Candidates that have qualified in CSIR/UGC-JRF/DBT-JRF/DBT-BINC-JRF/UGC-RGNF/ICMR-JRF/DST-INSPIRE/GATE/GPAT will only be eligible to sit for the interview.

The college is good, but the hostel needs a huge amount of maintenance.

All the applicants will have to give the entrance examination finalized by the college authorities then the selected candidates will have to go through the interview which will be undertaken at the campus of the college. Admission:

Candidates need to apply offline for the admission and one needs to pass graduation level at around 45% and are eligible for the program .I had scored enough so that I got admission.Admission process is quite simple .
