Dislikes

Early morning classes and stiff leave policy. No.matter how sick you are, the leave policy is extremely rigid with no relief available
A certain lack of transparency regarding the placements policies and process.
The hunger for more students and contant construction on campus. All free and green spaces are used for more rooms constructed which just deteriorates the quality of life there.

The placement of XLRI is considered among the top placements in the country. This year the average package for final placement went up to 32.7 lacs per annum. International offers are also being made for final placement with the highest package going up to 1.1 cr. It received over 480 domestic and three international offers with active participation from more than 115 recruiters. The highest package received for the 2021-23 batch is INR1.1 crore PA. International offer and INR 78.2 LPA domestic offer.

Intense competition and rivalry for even the smallest things
Extreme money mindedness of students where every thing is seen in terms of the return it offers
The drinking and partying culture which can get out of hand sometimes

Placement Experience:

Being one of India's oldest and premier B-schools, placements at XLRI are top-notch and rival that of IIM-ABC. The average median placement figure stood at Rs. 30 lahks for the batch 2020-22. A total of 99 companies visited the campus and 437 domestic offers were made. The highest placement was Rs.60 lakh. The placement rate for the batch was 100%. Firms like BCG, Bain, McKinsey, Amazon, ITC, ABG, etc. picked up students for various roles such as Associate Director, front-end IB, CoS, etc.. Preparation for summer placements begins as soon as one enters college. Students are made to prepare their CVs rigorously. For the summers, the average and highest placement stood at Rs. 1.54 and Rs. 3.5 lakh per month respectively.

Placement Experience:

The placements are pretty decent. XLRI is among the top 5 B-schools and come under creme de la creme these recruiters are more than happy to recruit students from our institute. Summer Internship placements happen right after 3 months into your joining this institute. Companies like Bain, BCG, McKinsey, TAS, ABG, JPMC etc recruit students for internships as well as for final placements. Everyone gets placed and the average salary is 24 lakhs. Post placements, students start as a management trainees.

XLRI comes with its own unique culture as suggested by my brother. Unlike other institutes that are surrounded by annual rankings and business publications like the IIMs whereas XLRI is not like this.

The college has a small batch size as compared to the larger ones offered by other institutes.
If you are looking for a sprawling campus, XLRI does not have one. But, students tend to mix better and end up knowing quite a few people from senior and junior batches.
The alumni society here is very involved and active as compared to other B – schools.
There are also multiple parties that will help you boost your social life if you are into that.
XLRI will offer you a mix of study, exposure, and practice like premier B-Schools like IIM A, B, C.

Overall, the college will give you a sense of completeness as a family and everyone is ready to help if you ever need any. Of course, you are also expected to help them back in the future.
