JGEC Scholarship 2026: Amount, Eligibility, Selection Criteria

Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College offers a range of scholarships and financial aid to students to make education affordable. The total academic cost for four years of study is approximately Rs. 40,000 for core branches and Rs. 62,000 for non-core branches like CSE and ECE, while the IT department costs around Rs. 110,000 to Rs. 130,000. Fees and Financial Aid:

At the time of admission we have to give 12341 rupees which includes various fees. After 4 months we have to pay 9000 rupees, and then we have to give 12931 rupees/year for the rest of 3 years, which sum up to approximately 60309 rupees for 4 year for a CSE branch student.The fees is same for ECE also. For CE,EE,ME the fees is 35809 rupees. For IT it is 109309 rupees. The fees is same for all catagory student . There is SVMCM scholarship through which the student will get 60000/year for 4 years.The fees structure is present in the website,so just go and check it out. There are also alumni scholarship which helps the student a lot.There is also a system of half fee and full fee compensation by the college itself which decreases the pressure of a student and their family.Overall the fees structure is very affordable.

A Deep Dive into JGEC

The year wise course fees for my branch is around 8000 and as a hosteller I have to pay 32000 per year . In civil, electrical and mechanical that is the the core branches have around 36000 total course fees , and the IT, CSE and ECE has more than 1 lakh as their course fee. The students are eligible for swami vivekananda merit cum scholarship as per the if they fullfill the income criteria Unfortunately I didn't get the government scholarship this year because of some issue but other students gets the government scholarship of 60000 . Which is sufficient to pay hostel and tution fee for a scholar.

Annual fee of college to be paid is 17000 rs, out of which 5000 is taken as provision fees which will be refunded to student at the end of semester. There is also scholarship scheme named svmcm scholarship, which helps student to cover college fees and their living charges. SVMCM scholarship provides 60000 rs approximately.

My detailed fee structure that I paid for year 2024 is given below: Admission fees : 1000 College caution money : 300 Medical fees(per session) : 50 Student insurance : 500 University registration fees : 500 Athlatic club fees : 60 Social and cultural fees(per session);social : 420 Student aid fund : 16 Student union/committee fees : 350 Magazine fees(per session) : 100 Student health home fees : 5 Photographic club fees : 25 Trekker's club fees : 50 Nature club fees : 20 Student development fees(MAKAUT) : 2200 Library card & college identitity card : 200 Tution fees for three months(July, August & September) : 3000 Technical club : 290 Library caution money : 3000 Other students activities : 250 And for every month the fee is 1000 rupees only. You can also take the SVMCM scholarship if you are eligible from which you can pay total college and hostel fees.

A DECENT REVIEW FOR JGEC

For general catagory we have to pay 14k to 15k in a year fot semester fees. For odd sem , we pay 8700 around and next 6 k around. For TWF canditate, they have to pay only 2k . And in our college full fund and half fund scholarship is provided by alumunas. For full fand they have to pay only exam fees which is 1200 only. And for these scholarship, they have to give a interview conducted by our teachers then after selection, the half or full amount will be backed to the student.

There are many scholarship opportunities for economically weaker section which help the students to carry on the course without any hindrance . Some Scholarship are also offered by alumuni which greatly help a student to get motivate on their studies. Some Scholarship like Vivekananda Scholarship also fund students in thier educational career.

THIS COLLEGE IS BEST GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING COLLEGE IN NORTH BENGAL.

Ten thousands per year including two semister exam fees. Complete cost of Mechanical engineering course is forty thousand. Swami Vivekananda merit cum means scholarship and sixty thousand per year. And 1 criteria in this scholarship minimum 60% marks in per semester.

My good college JGEC !

The tution fees is the highest for IT which is 25k nearly for 1 year. Students from this college can avail the SVMCM scholarship which is 60k per year if their family income is less than or equal to 2.5 lakh. This year one didi from CSE department got a ppo from Google. So the internship opportunities are good enough if you have the skills
