Is UCC good?

Likes

Very active in programmes and very supportive attitude from staffs and teachers with these things

Dislikes

Still need better teacher for each department and classes outside BA

Faculty:

There are 2 main blocks which are Arts block, Science block This college has a wide variety of teachers and only 2-3 of them are professional while there are also not very experienced teacher who join in for 1-2 semester. Approach and teaching style of these teachers are very respectful and amazing, there are other departments included on which the teachers just try their best on subjects that are way out and couldn't be learned easily. I am from history major and i mostly cover up my history classes. Some of the teachers their are amazing and very interesting to hear. It might be my most understanding class. Political department also has great teachers The worst is the English departmen in my opinion. The teachers are egoistic and partially racist towards some of the students, maybe only in my case but most likely they are tired of some of the students and want to go back. There are 1 exam and 1 test exam each semester The test is quite easy and the test includes in our internal The exam is however very difficult and takes time to even finish it. Failing students are quite a lot since none of them really care. The exams are quite based on our teachings maybe here goes one or two topics but it mostly covers up our exam and enough to get better grades

The professor uses english language to contact with every student and more .

The faculties are good to be honest their are friendly and help and reach us to the work which we need to be done as I am a science student I prefer my chemistry department to be good one. Exam are given twice first internal exam second main semester exam the question are average.

My exceptional academic journey.

Teaching is the first thing that I like about my college. All of the teachers were so efficient in their teaching skills and they clear our doubts

As I was a psychology student, there were a total of 120 students in the department inclusive of under graduate, post graduate and research students. The number of teachers were 7 in total amd there was one lab assistant. The faculty-student relationship was like a family. The student can approach the teacher every time, they can share their vows to the teacher and the teachers were always friendly to the students. I liked all the teachers in our department, and they were the best. Their approach towards the students make them the favorite teachers ever. Our academic system was like semester system. Every year there was 2 exams. For me the exams were easy to student and to score better marks. But still there were 5-6 students in my class who fails. May be because they are not studying well.

A life in Union Christian College

teachings : The teaching system is very good in this college
they conduct a lot of orientation by bringing the specialist from the other places

Every sir or madam who are there in the office are very friendly . They guide in a proper and respective way to every student . The IQAC teachers are more helpful , i like the faculties because they never deny to help in any case . I dont like the vice principle of the college , she asks alot of question . But its her job and she does a great job. Exams are conducted yearly twice and despite of that practical , assignmetns are taken

The faculty at Union Christian College (UCC), Shillong, Meghalaya, is one of the institution's greatest strengths. Known for their expertise, dedication, and passion for teaching, the faculty members are committed to providing a high-quality education while nurturing the overall development of students. My favourite faculty members is our class teacher, ma'am balonging, she teaches us economics. They way she teaches us are better to understand compared with our other faculty members. She also make herself always available for us even when we text her in WhatsApp. There is not a single faculty members to whom I hate but the least I like is our another economics ma'am, ma'am Iada. Her teaching is good but she sometimes priorities among the students. I'm not a good student but it doesn't give her the power to treat us differently. The exams of NEHU Board is very tough. They are very strict in checking of answers sheet. It believes that's NEHU 70% is equal to CBSE 90%.

My personal experience of my favorite college

The faculty to student ratio is pretty good specially the honours teachers they respons anytime when we ask for their help. I like sir Richard as our HoD he helps us and guide us in every way. Their are internal and external exam in the college

Good campus

Teachears are highly qualified and they are teaching since 9 years and very good in teaching . They known how to handle students and even they are very free and comfortable with students . Teachears are so highly qualified that every student get pass and some of the student get gold medal in particular subjects

They are highly qualified and the HOD is highest salaried person in the college they are good they often rush at the last moment the teachers are very much friendly and they are surely approachable for student like me

One of the best colleges in kerala.

Its very beautiful. The college is rich in greenary. The college management is very much intrested in the development of the college. There is a new block coming for mcom. There will be lot of oppurtunities for many teachers and students who want to beacome a family member of Union Christian College.
