We conduct foundation day, and celebrate festivals like onam, christmas and we have a students union leading sports and arts club in the college.
Experienced teachers . thiruvananthapuram dental college has several experienced and talented teachers willing to help the students learn more about dentistry.
The college is very reputed and we get a great exposure to patients

Dislikes

Lack of hostel facilities.currently we are allotted in bpharm hostel.we dont have a specific hostel for dental students.
They do not provide hostel for ladies. so it is difficult to stay in private
The mess cut will provide only if we cut the mess for more than five days.

The classes are strictly according to our timetable.
The college is very reputed and we get a great exposure to patients
Our teachers are very knowledgeable and experienced.

Dislikes

There is a shortage of college hostel for girls
The number of fans and air conditioners are less
There is no adequate transport facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am BDS student at Govt Dental College, Thiruvananthapuram, which follows the curriculum of KUHS ( Kerala University of Health Sciences). It is a well organized curriculum, giving equal importance to both the theory and practical works. The teaching method involves ICT classes and demonstrations. The timing of exams are pre scheduled.

Opportunities to participate in atheletic games and utilise artistic talents .

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are two sessional/internal exams in a year. There is a model exam prior to the university exam . You may get a study leave between the models and university exam , duration of which is irregular each year.

My own college

Likes

Get more opportunities in clinical aspects because we have enough patients
Give many opportunities in academic and non academic events

Didn't have enough campus space but we share campus space with medical college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was choosing this because of my urge to become a doctor and want to treat patients in my future. I am happy with the course but our curriculum include that if in an exam we didn't get 50% marks in two papers they didn't provide a supplimentary exam without loosing 6 months and those who fail in two subjects become a seperate batch for continuing their course . This additional system makes students more stressed in their exams

The curriculum prepares us improving the clinical knowledge and application.The teaching methods are proper.The frequency and exam timing are proper which helps us in learning.There is no difficulty with respect to exam timing.

We are taught based on the KUHS prescribed standard textbooks. And proper presentation of the chapters are given timely. Annually they conduct two internal exams and proper evaluation are done....

Vast clinical experience that reduces the fear and unsureties to approach a patient. The curriculum prepares us well for real world applications by exposing us to varieties of cases and helps us to gather more information about them. The curriculum felt a bit hectic but its quite adjustable in terms of the exam frequencies and the additional systems.

very good college with nirf rank 1 in kerala and nirf rank 15 in all india with good facilities

Likes

this college has very good staffs and very good infrastructure
nirf rank 1 in kerala in 2024 and 2023.ac class rooms and good results in university exams
a good garden in the centre of the campus.and ragging free campus.seniors will help to study

Dislikes

lecture hall is too much less in this college
sometimes ac donot work and students cant concentrate in that hot environment
no space to rest and recreational activities and no intervals in between classes

BDS course is not the course as we think.it has many opportunities and also there are nine departments so that we can ho into various fields after this degree. There is monthly exams in this college and there are many things to improve like way of conducting exams.

The college has good teachers and students are very friendly
The college has a gardens and canteen for leisure time.

The college don't have a very good campus
The college don't have many lecture halls and needs improvement
The parking facilities of the college should also be improved

BDS is a course that provide wide range of opportunities for us in India as well as in other countries.The curriculum mainly includes 8 main subjects having moderate level of difficulties.There are 3 internal exams and 1 main university exam with 2 tob3 months gap between them.The pattern makes the study lot easier

Remarks:

Overall it's a-okay college with old infrastructure. A good number of cases to see and practice. Good learning platform for limited procedures. Hectic schedules with less free time to roam around. Very few leaves.
