UPES matters

Likes

The campus is green with a diverse flora and fauna inside the campus premises.
The faculty is currently teach good with a great qualification and experience in their field.
There a complete system of rain water harvesting.

Dislikes

The sports culture is not that fantastic and not allowing any non-sprt student to utilize it.
The campus is completely out of city with average transportation faculty.
The in-campus hostel does not have enough seats to accommodate the students.

Placement Experience:

After seeing the placement of the campus I am planning for GATE or going abroad for a better job opportunity. As I have learned from the mistakes and will not be trying to repeat them. So, there is no placement I would definitely go for further studies.

The scenarios and the infrastructure is amazing.. campus is soo beautiful
Library is so damn good.. they have a huge section of computer scinece books

Dislikes

The campus is too big... so u have to walk a way too much for ur classes
The people are from different backgrounds if u are an introvert like me it may be difficult for u to cope up with all those cool vibes

Course Curriculum Overview:

To be very honest I have been to college just for 15 days till now. I like the subjects and yeah we have the Linux subject in the very first year which I have heard is very beneficial for the students plus its interesting. Subject choice and syllabus are good

My view of upes

Likes

Honestly , the best thing about is it's location . It is surround by mountains and is have a very good vibe.
The teaching faculty here is also very good and top class. They have quite good teaching methods.

Dislikes

Well , there is racism upto some level . If are from some other state u might face some racism
The city is very far from the college , which makes it as a disadvantage

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i had it planned earlier only to pursue computer science . The curriculum is prepared to train us real world application mostly in every lecture they teach us something about it . We have mid sems and end sems every semester and difficulty is very mediocre if you study well.

Univerty through a student's POV

Likes

The atmosphere of university was pretty good, nature surrounded campus keeps you calm and enhances concentration.
The behaviour of seniors was very supportive as well as helpful.
Faculty members are also very supportive.

Dislikes

Students are exposed to substance abuse which makes it an uncomfortable thing for other students.
Cost of living is quite expensive, so a student from normal middle class background finds it difficult.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are being provided and there is a dedicated placement cell in the university which provides you lifetime placement assisstance. Internship oppurtunities are also provided by the placement cell.

My Life at UPES

Likes

Some Faculties here are very cooperative and some teach for knowledge rather than just the degree
If you are interested in gaming and graphics for BTech in case then this is one of the best college for you
The location of the campus is amazing, like you'll never feel bored and it's always refreshing as you're surrounded by mountains

Dislikes

This college will not spoon feed you, if have to push yourself a bit
The location of this college is too interior that travelling becomes difficult if you're staying off campus

Placement Experience:

Placements are offered by the college and it's decent but I'll not say it's great tho. Although this college claims for 100 percent placement but most of them picked up by the mass recruiters. I mean ya big companies like Microsoft, Accenture, Adobe, etc visit these colleges but they barely pick anyone.

I really like the supportive faculty that is offered by the college
Very good location, calm and helps you focus on studies more
Great placements. Upes ensures placements even in despair times like these when the job market is going down.

Course Curriculum Overview:

At upes, you can choose a minor to graduate in along with the major which is a very smooth process so in the end you can not hold just 1 degree but 2 of them. There are many extra activities like trekking and sports to participate in that focus on maintaining the physical health of the students.

I'ts a dream come true

Likes

My campus is really pretty with lots of trees and nice views of mountains.
I really like the Weather here. The buildings are very big and classrooms are equipped with full of facilities like projectors.
Our college helps us to get jobs in many big companies.

Dislikes

The cost of studying is high, and it can be hard to pay without help.
Our college is far from city, its very difficult to get connected with the city.
Student ratio is very high in classrooms.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well designed as per the course and strict to the field of study. The syllabus is mostly oriented to the practical part instead of the theory. Sometimes I feel teachers are in very pressure while teaching in the class. Timings of exams are okay every year we have two semesters like we have in our school time.

Life in UPES

Likes

The infrastructure is very good. The environment is very clean and hygienic.
The university is very strict against ragging .
The faculty has great knowledge about every concept.

Dislikes

The management is very poor, and not good.
Some of the subjects are not relevant in the curriculum.
There is a lot of delay in providing important information such as datesheet of exams.

Placement Experience:

The placements are not bad but not too good. The average package fluctuates every year between 6 and 7 Lakh per annum. The highest package is 50L that a student got from Microsoft. Students mostly go for higher education.

UPES, a fifty-fifty college

Likes

Sports facilities were too good and well maintained. Indoor badminton courts, 2 basketball courts and much more.

Placement Experience:

The placements are really good, every course has got many many good companies recruiting students. Hyundai, tata, Samsung and such big titles are there for the internships. Overall the placements are 90% good and suitable.

UPES: GOOD OR BAD??

Surroundings of college is great as it is situated in the hills
The teachers are also very hard working.
The labs are well designed and have proper equipments

Dislikes

The course could have been properly structured
Better hostel facilities could have been provided
Classes timings can be better organized to save time

Placement Experience:

From 4th year people are eligible for campus placements There were several companies vising the campus including TCS, Cognizent, wipro, google among others The higest package was offered of 55 lakhs per annum and average package being 8 lakhs Untill last year 100% placements were done, but this year its been slightly bad. I will persue a masters degree
