Struggle for the dental students of patiala

Likes

OPD is very nice, patient number is good
New cases new stuff to learn with every case
New machines and infrastructure present now

Dislikes

Teaching staff very less thus few classes are taken
Most of the cases are done by interns due to the high patient load
No facilities like the prosthodontic material and materials needs for patient’s treatement are not provided by the college

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is not well oriented by the officials Things we need to know for doing patients are not well taught bcoz that's is what we need for MDS (post graduation) so they donot teach them now Which is wrong So according to me Clinical stuff and practicals should be more concetrated on instead of theoretical study There need to be a mid term exam conducted likewise in MBBS for better preparation Proper test which are not regularly conducted should be there Teachers need to be hired Posts for teachers are vacant Teaching staff needs to teach students instead of pgs

Likes

Best thing is this college has a great Patient Flow.
Prosthodontics department is one of the best in whole punjab.
Opd no. Is very high. With avg of more than 1000 patients per month l.

Dislikes

Less no. Of professors. More are going to be appointed
College itself do not have any campus. It shares with GMC patiala.
There is no separate hostel for GDC. It is combined with GMC

Curriculum is highly based on the practical basis. Due to high patient flow one can get a very good experience from this college. Curriculum of 1st and 2nd year includes both practical and theoretical subjects. From the 3rd year Patient experience is starts.

All About GDC Patiala

Likes

The campus infrastructure is nice. The buildings are newly built.
The Lecture theatre, labs, clinics are well developed and fully AC. Worth it to work in them.

Dislikes

College library also gets closed with college hours.
College doesn't have its own hostel for the students.
Canteen is temporarily closed. We have to approach the medical college in our free time.
