Bawanipur Anchalik College was established in 1982. It is one of the higher degree college of the vast rural area of BhawaniPur. The College is located on the western side of 31 No. National Highway and 2 Kilometers from Bhawanipur Chowk Bazar. Bhawanipur Anchalik College was affiliated to the Gauhati University.

Bhawanipur Anchalik college was established at Bhawanipur, an Assamese Vaisnava Sattra in 1982 with a view to propagating the higher education amongst the rural poverty striken masses, providing accessibility of women to higher education and elevating the people of Bhawanipur and its adjoining areas to the new horizon of changing educational scenario
