NMIMS IIPS Admissions
Prospective applicants may fill the application form online by visiting the institute website. The complete application form must be printed after online submission, a copy of which must be sent via post to the institute’s admission office. Copies of all relevant documents must be enclosed with the application printout. Candidates applying for various courses offered by the Institute of Intellectual Property Studies, Mumbai, may register online at www.nmims.edu.in. It is hereby advised that the applicant reads all the instructions in the information brochure carefully before filling the online application form.
The application process in detail is as follows:
Step 1: An applicant must click on the application link for the desired course listed under the Admission tab in the institute website.
Step 2: All requisite particulars in the application form must be filled correctly. There is no scope for editing the application once submitted.
Step 3: It is strongly advised of the applicant to provide only the latest contact details. Wrong or obsolete contact information may lead to failure of communication between the institute and the candidate.
Step 4: Candidates must fill only genuine academic and employment details in the application form. Misleading information could result in cancellation of the applicant’s candidature.
Step 5: They must take a printout of the complete application form and send a copy of the same to the institute’s admission office.
- Course fees can be paid in 2 installments by non-sponsored applicant.
- Additional 12.36% service tax will be applicable for short term programs.
- Course/Program fees is accepted by DD only, in favour of "SVKM’s NMIMS – IIPS” payable at Mumbai.

IIPS was set up in 2000 by the Shri Vileparle Kelavani Mandal, visualizing future demands for knowledge on best practices in the management and resourceful utilization of innovation, for building core competencies in intellectual property law and for the development of healthy policies to regulate technological growth. In that direction, IIPS provides comprehensive training in the study and application of the various forms of intellectual property like patents, copyrights, trademarks, designs, etc.
The principle idea behind this set-up is to train and educate lawyers, agents, managers, consultants and technical experts from industry and government in the use of intellectual property rights, specifically patents and reduce thereby, the distortions and impediments to international and national trade arising out of ignorance of these rights and related laws. After all knowledge by itself does not pay, it is what you do with it that does! Through an evolving, market determined curricula, a committed pedagogy and dedicated team of expert IP faculty, the focus at IIPS remains on building a robust IP culture and awareness, which in turn would contribute to a strong knowledge economy. It often goes beyond the boundaries of a structured curriculum to successfully design many interesting and industry relevant programs.
