The SGSITS Cutoff 2026 for admission to various courses will be based on entrance exams like JEE Main, CSAB. After the exams, seats are allocated through counselling processes conducted by authorities like JoSAA and CSAB. In 2025, the most competitive program was B.Tech (Computer Science and Engineering) with a closing rank of 21,533 for the General category, while B.Tech (Industrial & Production Engineering) had the lowest cutoff at 58,539. Candidates preparing for the 2026 admission cycle should expect the cutoffs to remain high for top courses like B.Tech (Computer Science and Engineering), B.Tech (Information Technology), B.Tech (Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering).

Seat allotment results change based on the candidate's category (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS) and quota (Home State vs. All India). Students can check the complete round-wise and category-wise seat allotment data from the 2025 cycle below to find their exact safe score.

SGSITS Cutoff Overview: Quick Highlights

  • Highest Cutoff: B.Tech (Computer Science and Engineering) was the most demanded branch, closing at 21,533 rank in the General category. Students aiming for this course need a top-tier score.
  • Lowest Cutoff: B.Tech (Industrial & Production Engineering) had the lowest entry requirement, closing at 58,539 rank. This indicates the minimum score required to enter the institute through the General category.
  • Admission Process: Seat allocation is managed entirely by JoSAA and CSAB, based strictly on the candidate's entrance exam performance.
  • Target Score for 2026: To secure a seat in the upcoming admission cycle, General category students should target a rank between 21,533 and 58,539.

Can I get into SGSITS or IET-DAVV with a 316,000 rank in general?

Sandip Pal
Tania DeyStudied at IIM A (2018)

The short answer is no. My brother is currently studying mechanical engineering at IET-DAVV. He got AIR 63000 rank in the general category and still had to struggle a lot to get admission.

With a rank of 3,16,000, it’s next to impossible to get into IET-DAVV even from SC/ST category. However, if you are looking forward to the next attempt, check out the opening and closing ranks of IET-DAVV 2020 to get a better view.

From the above closing and opening ranks, you can easily estimate how fierce the competition goes. None of the branch ranks goes up to even 90,000 thus securing a seat with a rank of 316000 is not possible at all. The best recommendation is to try in private colleges or prepare for the next year.

I scored 120 in the JEE Mains this year and 91.2% in the CBSE. How can I get the IT or the EC branch in the IET DAVV SGSITS?

Rachita MitraStudied at IET DAVV (2017)

With a score of 120 in JEE Mains and 91.2% in CBSE, you are fit for the IT or EC branch in IET DAVV in the second round of counseling by DTE.

In the past, students have got the IT/EC branch at such scores or even less. I have a friend who is an alumnus of IET DAVVa and his score was 125 in JEE and 87% in MP board.

There’s a good chance that you will be selected. As for SGSITS, with this rank, you can easily get any branch you like.

Here is the required cutoff for IET DAVV and SGSITS in recent years.

However, if you don’t get the desired branch through DTE counseling for IET DAVV in the first and second round, you can seize any lower branch and apply for Internal Branch Sliding.

Can I get SGSITS or IET DAVV in college level counselling with a 331980 rank in the JEE Mains? I am an MP domicile.

Soumita GhoseB.E Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Engineering and Technology, DAVV (2022)

Yes, it is possible to get into any of these colleges with this rank, be it SGSITS or IET DAVV. But you wouldn't get into the branch according to your choice. It only depends on the number of seats available for each branch and the number of students applying for a particular branch.

The table below shows the required cutoff for SGSITS and IET DAVV.

But don't just take admission in any branch of a college just because of its name and popularity. Always choose that branch in which you are really interested. That would be the best decision and will be very helpful for your career.

I got 102marks in the JEE and 82.1 in the MP Board. Can I get the SGSITS or the IET DAVV?

Ankita Sarkar
Chirag AgarwalStudied at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, DAVV

It would be a bit difficult to get listed in both the colleges, but in college-level counseling, there is still a 50% chance. A friend of mine got admission to the EI branch at IET DAVV with a rank of AIR 1,60,000 (general category) through CLC.

You might get branches like EI, Biomedical, etc. You can get these branches in college-level counseling or even in the second round. But it’s risky. If you fail to get in, you may have to drop a year. My friend got lucky with the seat. I will only recommend going for it, if you are willing to drop a year or have other alternatives.
