AP EAMCET Result 2026: Ranking Criteria
AP EAMCET 2026 authorities will take every care to avoid any errors in the evaluation, checking, scrutiny, tabulation, normalisation, and ranking.
- The ranking is prepared based on a combined score. AP EAPCET normalised marks carry 75% weightage, while Class 12 marks contribute 25%. In 2025, Class 12 exams were cancelled, and no scores were considered.
- But in 2026, no such announcement has been made regarding the cancellation of Class 12 exams.
- Therefore, it is expected that the usual weightage rule (75% AP EAPCET + 25% Class 12) will apply unless stated otherwise by the APSCHE.
- For the Class 12 evaluation, only the following subject groups are considered:
- PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics)
- PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology)
- There is no minimum qualifying mark required for candidates belonging to the SC/ST category.

AP EAMCET Result 2026: Normalisation Process
The authorities will implement a normalising process for AP EAMCET results to arrive at a normalised score across all the slots for which the exam will be held. Since the AP EAMCET exam 2026 is held in multiple shifts, the normalisation process is used by the authorities to prevent any parity in the difficulty level of the questions.
For example, a student scoring 93 marks in an easier shift may not perform as well as a student scoring 89 marks in a tougher shift. After normalisation, 93 marks may reduce to around 91, while 89 marks may increase to around 94.
This brings all scores to the same level. It ensures fair ranking for all candidates.
AP EAMCET Result 2026: Tie-breaking Rule
The following tie-breaking procedure will be used by the authorities if two or more applicants receive identical scores on the AP EAPCET exam:
- Candidates with strong math scores in the part will be given preference.
- Should there still be a tie, the applicant with the better Physics score will be given preference based on merit.
- Candidates with a high percentage of marks in the qualifying exam will be given preference if there is still a tie after the first two steps.
- If there is a tie after all the aforementioned guidelines, candidates who are older will be given preference.
Ques. What if a candidate has an exact score as mine? What will be the tie-breaker?
Ans. If you are a science student, tie-breaking can be used
- Whoever will get the higher marks in the Mathematics section of Andhra Pradesh EAMCET will get preference.
- If still tied, higher marks in the Physics section will be considered.
- If still tied, the older candidate (by age) gets chosen.
- If the tie remains, the lottery system (random number) may be used.
For Agriculture & Pharmacy Stream:
- The one who has more marks in Biology.
- If still tied, higher marks in Physics are considered.
- Then, age is considered (older candidate preferred).
Ques. Can tie-breaking rules lower my marks and lower my rank?
Ans. The tie-breaking rule can affect your final rank but not your marks. Tie-breaking Rule is only when 2 students are getting the same score.
AP EAMCET Results 2026: Expected Marks vs Rank
The mark-vs-rank trend in AP EAPCET has remained highly consistent from 2022 to 2025, with only minor year-to-year variations due to changes in paper difficulty, the number of candidates and the conventional 75% EAMCET + 25% IPE weightage formula.

| <1,00,000 | Below 75 | Below 75 | Below 75 |
Note: Agriculture and Pharmacy share the same BiPC paper and rank list. Therefore, the expected marks are identical for both streams.
- 90+ marks→ Safe score for rank under 10,000 in Engineering.
- 120+ marks→ Excellent score for top engineering colleges like JNTU, AU, SVU CSE/ECE branches.
- 140+ marks→ Approx top 2,000 rank in Engineering and top 100 in Agriculture and Pharmacy.
- Qualifying marks remain 40/160 (25%) for GEN/EWS/OBC. No minimum marks for SC/ST.
Also Check:
Ques. What is the rank for 40 marks in the EAMCET?
Ans. For 40 marks in EAMCET, your expected rank can be anywhere roughly in the range of 55,000 to 80,000+. This is an average to low score, with a higher chance of getting a seat in private engineering colleges rather than top government institutions.
Ques. Is 70 marks good in AP EAMCET?
Ans. A score of 70 marks in EAMCET is a decent mark. It might get you a rank in the 10,000 – 20,0000 range. You can get admission in a mid-tier private engineering college. But it might not be enough for top-tier institutions for computer science branches.
AP EAMCET Results 2026: Weightage & Rank
25% of Class 12 marks and 75% of AP EAMCET normalised scores are taken into consideration for admission.
- Candidates with qualifying marks in the AP EAMCET 2026 are given zero for any normalised mark(s) in the relevant subject(s) if, after normalisation, the marks in any one or more of the subjects become negative.
- All three subjects' combined grades, however, are regarded as AS EAPCET marks.
- If, following normalisation, the marks in all three subjects go below zero (negative), the candidates for whom there is no qualifying cut-off in the AP EAPCET 2026 are considered to have no marks overall, and a rank is awarded.
- Even though they are negative, AP EAPCET 2026 normalisation marks are used to break ties if they continue.

Source: Quora Discussion
An AP EAMCET candidate was seen asking how they did not get any rank because they failed to submit the 12th marks list. In situations like this, the APSCHE might give some grace period to those students who could not submit their 12th-grade marks.
