FMGE is for Indian or any overseas Indian citizens who completed medical degrees in another country but wish to practice medicine in India. The examination is conducted by the National Examination Board twice ‌a year, in June and in December.

The exam is conducted in computer-based test (CBT)mode in 2 parts, Part A and Part B.
There are a total of 300 multiple-choice questions from both papers.
Candidates who completed their medical degree in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and New Zealand do not need to take FMGE.

What is FMGE?

FMGE stands for Foreign Medical Graduate Exam. It is a screening test conducted by the National Board of Examinations for Indian citizens and overseas citizens of India who have completed a medical degree from another country and want to practice medicine in India.

FMGE exam tests the knowledge and skills to ensure they meet the required standard to practice medicine in India.
The National Board of Examinations conducts FMGE twice a year, in June and December.

FMGE Eligibility

To be eligible for the FMGE, certain conditions have to be met by the candidates, such as
