NExT Result 2024: Nature of Scoring

The calculation of NExT 2024 for both Step 1 and Step 2 is provided below:

• The marks in NExT Step 1 will be calculated as whole numbers which will be given as the Raw Scores with proper decimals and eventually corresponding Percentages i.e., marks out of a maximum of 100 with proper decimals may be calculated if needed.
• NExT Step 2 exam results will be declared as only Pass or Fail on the basis of the acquisition of proper capability that is being evaluated.

NExT Result 2024: Minimum Qualifying Scores

The minimum qualifying score to pass the NExT 2024 for Step 1 and Step 2 is given in the below points:

• To pass for NExT Step 1, aspirants need to secure at least 50% of marks i.e., 50 out of 100 marks, or half of the maximum possible Raw scores in each of the six papers.
• The minimum score required to pass the NExT Step 2 exam is 50% of the marks required i.e., 50 out of 100 marks, or half of the maximum possible Raw Scores for NExT Step-1.

NExT Result 2024: Merit List

The merit list prepared for the NExT Step 1 for the Postgraduate courses admission to in broad specialties is mentioned below:

• The merit list of NExT 2024 is prepared on the basis of marks secured in the last attempt in the NExT Step 1 exam. The rank will be determined for admission in postgraduate courses in broad specialties.
• For the purpose of deciding merit for Postgraduate courses admission to broad specialties will be calculated from the sum of raw scores secured in each subject or paper in a single NExT step-1 exam only.
• For determining merit Postgraduate courses admission to broad specialties in the NEXT Step-1 marks will remain valid for only five years. However, if aspirants appear in the NExT 2024 of the Step-1 exam, then the previous NExT step-1 score would be invalid for deciding on rank for Postgraduate courses admission in broad specialties and only the last attempt NExT step-1 marks will be considered for determination of the rank.
• To determine the rank of Postgraduate courses admission to in broad specialties in NExT 2024, the aspirants need to apply the generation of a rank given by the Commission from time to time. Only those aspirants who have applied for generation of rank will be allowed for admission in NExT 2024.

Tie-Breaking Rule for Generation of Rank List

Below given the tie-breaking rule for Generation of Rank:

• The Normalized sum of raw scores secured in each subject or paper in a single NExT step-1 exam. The Method of Normalization of the sum of raw scores across the NExT 2024 Step-I exam will be informed by the commission whenever necessary.
• Aspirants with Lower attempts of NExT step-1 will be given a higher rank.
• Aspirants will be given higher ranks with higher marks in the given order of preference- Medicine and allied disciplines, Surgery and allied disciplines, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Otorhinolaryngology, and Ophthalmology.

Utility of NExT Scores

• Eligibility of an Indian Medical Graduate: A Medical candidate from a recognized college by the Commission for imparting undergraduate medical education will be qualified for a Compulsory Rotating Internship given all of the following criteria- Pass each of the six Theory Papers of NExT Step-1, and Pass in III MBBS/ Final MBBS (Part 2) Clinical/ Practical Examination as authorized by the concerned University/Institution
• Eligibility of a Foreign Medical Graduate: A medical student who passed an undergraduate medical course overseas and has met the applicable requirements given in the Foreign Medical Graduate Regulations of the Commission will be qualified for a Compulsory Rotating Internship as accepted for such candidates who meet the following criteria- Pass in each of the six Theory Papers of NExT Step 1.
• Eligibility for allowing Licence and Registration in the State Medical Register/ National Medical Registers: Indian Medical graduate or foreign medical graduate will be qualified to be registered in the State Medical Register/ National Medical who fulfill the following criteria- Completed the proper duration of the Internship, Passed the NExT Step 2 Clinical/ Practical Examination, Fulfilling the requirements of the National Medical Commission as per the License to Practice Medicine Regulations and Registration of Medical Practitioners, and any other requirements may be regarded appropriate by the Commission as informed time to time.
• Eligibility for admission to PG Medical Courses in Board specialty subjects in an institution or college approved by the Commission: All those candidates who have Registered in the State Medical Register/ National Medical Register and have been granted a Licence to practice and fulfill the given requirements are eligible for admission to PG Medical Courses in broad specialty subjects in a college accepted by the Commission should fulfill the given criteria- Qualified and granted Licence to practice modern system of medicine in India and fulfill the requirements given, and has participated in the manner of common counseling as given by the Commission through designated authority accepted by the Commission for the purpose.
• Utilization of NExT Scores: The Government of India, the State Government, any other organization of the Indian Government, the State Government, or any autonomous or private institution/ body may use the NExT Step 1 score for purposes like scholarship, employment, fellowship, etc. After clearing the Final MBBS degree and successful completion of the one-year internship, an MBBS degree will be awarded to the candidates.

What Atter NExT 2024 Result?

After clearing the NExT Step 1 exam, medical aspirants will be doing an internship for one year. After the internship program, aspirants will have to pass the NExT Step 2 to qualify for registration and get a license to practice modern medicine in India and also study postgraduate courses for which their NExT Step 1 score will be considered.
