The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has released the revised dates for the postponed Class 12 public exams for the 2025 session. These changes were made after several papers were delayed earlier this month because of administrative issues and election-related work in some states. According to the new schedule, the exams in Bihar and the Nuapada constituency of Odisha will take place earlier on 29th November 2025 and 1st December 2025, than those in the rest of the country. All other postponed papers across India will now be held on December 2, 2025.
The conducting body of the NIOS Class 12 exam is the National Institute of Open School Examination, which conducts the exam twice a year (April and October). The exam is conducted in offline mode in various languages.
- The application form is filled out online, and you need to pay INR 2000 along with INR 940 for additional subjects at the time of registration.
- The official examination dates for April 2026 are yet to be announced, but it is expected that the NIOS Class 12 exam 2026 will take place in April–May 2026.
- The application process is likely to commence in the 3rd week of December 2025 and will conclude by the 2nd week of January 2026, tentatively.
- Eligible students have the opportunity to appear for the NIOS Class 12 exams twice in a year.
The exam pattern of the NIOS exam 2026 includes 16 subjects, including Business Studies, Accountancy, Sociology, Home Science, Chemistry, etc.
