Assam HSLC 2026 Exam Pattern
The Assam HSLC exam is conducted for 6 subjects, with 5 core subjects and 1 elective. Students must choose between Modern Indian Languages or Elective English as their language paper.
- The exam includes 6 subjects: Language paper, general science, general mathematics, social science, English, and 1 elective subject from the list.
- Core subjects don’t have any practical examination.
- The language paper is conducted for a total of 100 marks with no internal assessment. The student has to score 30 marks to pass the exam.
- Other core subjects are conducted for 90 marks, whereas 10 marks will be given for internal assessment.
- The objective type questions carries the 50% of total marks. OMR sheet will be provided in the exam for the same.

Ques. What is the 50% MCQ rule in the Assam HSLC exam?
Ans. Starting in recent years, Assam HSLC exam consists of Objective types questions, which are mostly MCQs. 50% of total marks will come from these MCQs. The OMR sheet will be provided in the exam for the MCQ part.
Ques. What are the passing marks for each subject?
Ans. You need to score at least 30 marks in each subject to pass the exam. You have to score at least 3 out of in IA to pass the exam. Passing marks for the theory main exam is 27 out of 90.

Assam HSLC 2026 Syllabus
The syllabus for HSLC is announced by the Assam State School Education Board. The questions will cover the entire syllabus, where each chapter covers 2-15 marks.

- Assamese, Hindi, Manipuri, Bodo, Urdu, Karbi, Bengali, Nepali, Khasi, Garo, Mizo, and Hmar languages are available to choose from.

Assam HSLC Results 2026
The results for the Assam HSLC exam are likely to be released in April 2026. The results will be announced online through the official website https://site.sebaonline.org/results/. Students can access the results using their assigned roll number.
In addition to Assam HSLC results, SEBA is also likely to release the toppers, the overall pass percentage, and gender-specific pass percentages.
- The results page displays your subject-wise and total marks along with your name and roll number.
- It also displays if you passed the exam with distinction, first or second division in the exam.
- To get a first division, you need to score at least 60% (360 out of 600), whereas you need 85% or above to get a distinction (510+ out of 600).

Ans. If you fail in 1 or 2 subjects, you can appear for the supplementary compartment exam. Compartment exams are usually held a few months after the main exam results.

Assam HSLC Revaluation
Students who were dissatisfied with the marks and were expecting more marks can apply for revaluation. They can apply for rechecking the answer sheet and a photocopy of their answer sheet by paying the fee.
- Students can apply for revaluation within 12 days after the Assam HSLC results declaration.
- You have to complete the online application form for revaluation and pay the fee of 350 per subject.
- To apply for the evaluated photocopy along with rechecking, you have to pay the applicable fee of 550 per subject.
Ques. What is the difference between re-checking and revaluation in the Assam HSLC exam?
Ans.
- Rechecking just retotalling your marks to check if any marks weren’t counted during the evaluation.
- Revaluation is the detailed process to evaluate once again by a different examiner to make sure that any questions were marked wrong, even if the answer is correct.
Ques. Can my marks actually decrease after rechecking?
Ans. Yes. Marks can increase, decrease, or can even stay the same. If they decrease, you have to accept the new, decreased marks; old marks become invalid.
Assam HSLC Compartment Exams 2026

Ans. You should score a minimum of 3 marks out of 10 in IA to pass the exam. The minimum passing of the main HSLC exam is 27, making 30 the total minimum marks to be considered as a pass.
Ques. Are we allowed to use calculators for the General Maths paper?
Ans. No, calculators are strictly not allowed in the exam. You have to do all of your calculations manually.
