Symbiosis International University conducts the Symbiosis Entrance Exam (SET) for admissions to various bachelor’s programs across Symbiosis institutes. Symbiosis International (Deemed to be University) released the notification for the SET 2026 exam 2026 on 12th December 2025. The SET exam date 2026 will be conducted on 2nd May 2026 (Test 1) and 10th May 2026 (Test 2).

  • The Symbiosis SET 2026 application form has been released, with registration and fee payment closing on April 15, 2026.
  • There is no upper age limit to apply for SET 2026, though applicants must be at least 17 years old.
  • The SET 2026 Test 1 admit card will be released on April 24, 2026, and the Test 2 admit card will be released on April 30, 2026.

What is the Symbiosis SET Exam for?

The SET exam is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree in various programs from the Symbiosis institutes. SET exam offers various courses such as BA, BBA, BCA, and BSc at various Symbiosis institutions.

  • The SET exam is conducted once a year in an online CBT mode.
  • 12 Symbiosis Institutes will participate in the SET exam 2026 for ‌admissions to BBA, BCA, and BA programs.
  • There are approximately 720 seats available across Symbiosis institutes.
  • The registration fee for SET is ₹2250 per person. Candidates have to pay a fee of ₹ 1000 per program if they want to apply for more than one program.

Ans. The Symbiosis entrance test is conducted in an online, computer-based test mode. The candidates can choose 3 preference cities among the 80 cities across India.

Ans. SET is conducted only once a year for 2 days in the month of May. SET exam 2026 will be held in two days. Test 01: May 02, 2026 and Test 02: May 10, 2026. .

Symbiosis SET 2026 Admit Card

The set exam admit card for 2026 will be released in April 2026 (Tentative).

  • You can print the SET admit card in colour from the official website for both phases.
  • If you apply for multiple tests, you should carry a separate hall ticket for each test.
  • You must reach the exam centre at least half an hour before the exam time mentioned in the call letter.

On the day of the exam, you must carry any of the following documents to the exam centre along with the Symbiosis entrance test admit card.

Symbiosis SET Exam 2026 Eligibility

To be eligible for the SET 2026 exam, you must:

  • Have completed class 12 or equivalent from any recognised board.
  • Have secured a minimum 50% aggregate marks in class 12. 45% for SC/ST category candidates.
  • Candidates who are in Class 12 or who are waiting for results can also apply for the SET.
  • Candidates who completed class 12 or equivalent from any foreign board and obtained the equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities are also eligible.

Ans. The candidates who have completed class 12 with ‌aggregate marks of 50% (general candidates) and 45%(SC/ST) are eligible to apply for the SET 2026.

Ans. Yes, students who are currently in class 12 can apply for the SET. Students need to provide ‌proof of Class 12 passing marks at the time of admission.

The SET exam 2026 syllabus is distributed across 4 sections: General English, Quantitative, General Awareness, and Analytical and Logical Reasoning.

  • There are a total of 60 questions, with each carrying 1 mark.
  • The total duration of the exam is 60 minutes.

Ans. As per the marking scheme of the SET, there is no negative marking in the SET exam. Each correct answer is awarded 1 mark, and there is no deduction for the wrong answer.

SET 2026 Syllabus is distributed across 5 sections, including General English, General Awareness, Quantitative, and Analytical and Logical Reasoning.

  • Important topics that are included in the general english are vocabulary, Idioms and phrases, para jumbles, parts of speech and antonyms -synonyms, etc.

Ques. Is there a reservation for Nagpur students in Symbiosis institutes through SET?

Ans. Yes, there is 25% reservation for Nagpur Domicile students. Reservation only applicable for SCMS Nagpur and SIT Nagpur institutes.

Ques. What's the difference between within-sanctioned intake and over and above intake in SET reservation policy?

Ans. The difference between them is:

  • Within sanctioned intake: Reservation is for total seats; if an institute has 100 seats, 15 seats are reserved for SC candidates within the 100 seats.
  • Over and above intake: In this type of reservation, additional seats are created on top of regular seats. If an institute has 100 seats, 2 seats for kashmir migrants has been added, making the total of 102 seats.

Ans. SET is generally considered to be easy to moderate in difficulty level, but this can vary each year. The test format is consistent, and for many candidates the overall difficulty level is manageable. No negative marking scheme benefits as well.
